ion is LTE phone with 4.6inch screen meant for AT&T bands
whereas Xperia S is HSPA+ phone with 4.3inch screen meant for global market (EU and Asian Market)

due to smaller size in Xperia S the ppi is better in Xperia S than Ion

both phones are different in lot of sense

libyan rebel , 16 Jan 2012which is the best xperia ion or xperia sBoth has almost identical specs. I believe Ion would be a better pick considering the bigger battery capacity. Other than that, both of the phones are same.

Both xperia ion and xperia s are almost same in features but both has only internal storage of 16/32 GB no external expandable in memory (in xperia s),IN bluetooth it uses v2.1 only but in present market mobile phones use v3.0,No Gorilla Glass ,Hope so they use android OS v4.0(ice cream Sand witch) ,rest all features are very good like CPU Dual-core 1.5 GHz,Chipset Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon.

Definitely better phone than previous SE series,

I like the new shape, look more stylish and elegance..

I wonder why SE design, shapes, was totally different from "SONY".

I think Sony should kick Ericson long long ago..

do not rely on gsmarena specs sheet. They also note the their specs is not 100% accurate. So i believe before you judge the battery performance of this phone check it in actual use and leave your comment here. Dont act like uneducated man who believe in fairytales.

I have to wait for another product. Specs are nice but...Ion will have the stupid nonsense "search" button and Xperia s ... no card slot?!
And don't be surprised when you'll see Huawei Ascend p1 the next best seller ;)

I have been researching android smartphones for a while now. I have had a 3GS for about a year now and always thought I would stay with Apple but I'm amazed at what Android has to offer! I am impressed with the XPERIA ION. CES came at a great time since I'm due for an upgrade next month. It gave me more options to consider. Thank you Sony for breaking away and setting a course for a future with one focus in mind .... making high quality products for us to choose from and making them a part of our every day lives . The ION looks like a very well made and thought out product ! I look forward to seeing it in the stores so I can make my final decision!
