Barun7, 05 Aug 2013Hello everyone at GSMARENA! I am a new member(though, I am an occassional and casual visitor o... moreno need to switch from jelly bean
xperia l is a premium smartphone for u ,, as far as ur requirments r concerned
Hello everyone at GSMARENA! I am a new member(though, I am an occassional and casual visitor of this site for the last four years) and also a Sony (or Sony Ericsson) loyalist. After a lot of research, I bought Xperia L two days back. I need some help from you as this is my first Android phone(previously used W395,Elm and Cedar - all of them are still working perfectly).
My prime focus is on entertainment. I don't want my device to get overburdened with a lot of apps and games which I don't need. Internet usage will be occasional. I am not sure whether the Jelly Bean OS is perfect or not. Do I need to change to a different OS? Also which type of Micro SD card will be perfect for music & video - class 4/class 6/class 10/ class 12? Also, anything that a first time Andriod user might not know, will be more than welcome.
Thanking you all in advance!
Hey, anyone plz tell me about rooting. What is rooting? I didnt get it? Help me the way anyone can ? Will be ua kindness.
Thanks in advance. :) :)
pls suggest me a phone that have good cam and nice battery back up...
KT prime, 05 Aug 2013No flash ?? ( didnt get that )
Hey, no issues u can root your phone when its one year old ( ... more---> http://www.gsmarena.com/adobe_flash_player_to_drop_out_of_the_google_play_store_today-news-4648.php
Well i'm not sure how imp is flash anyway
Seems you are from India? We don't have micromax phones here in Pak. I rooted my Samsung Star a few times but don't know how it works for android and i guess it will be risky, we are getting 2 kinds of Xperia phones here, with and without warranty. I'm thinking to buy w/o warranty phone as it is relatively cheaper.
Xperia L has many disadvantages , but it has something that Xperia M has not
prafullgadge, 05 Aug 2013can we connect ps3 controller to xperia l pls reply its urgent i'm going to buy this tommorow!!
Its compitable, but ur Android has to be 4.2 ( Xperia L currently runs on 4.1.2 ..there has not been any further update)
A list of DUALSHOCK®3 compatible sony devices are given in this link,
( they 'll be having a blue joystick logo marked next to them)
And would like to add that from Android JB 4.2 onwards, there is support for wireless Joysticks ( irrespective of the phone )
can we connect ps3 controller to xperia l pls reply its urgent i'm going to buy this tommorow!!
jkfooty, 05 Aug 2013That's disappointing mate, one of many reasons to change my phone was low internal memory and ... moreNo flash ?? ( didnt get that )
Hey, no issues u can root your phone when its one year old ( when your warranty expires) Rooting is not such a big deal coz anyways google will release Android 5.0 in near future and i guess we mite have to root our phones to install it ( i dnt beleive sony 'll be giving support for android 5.0 for this phone)
Also if im correct only Micromax phones at the moment have the feature , where once you plug in your Micro-sd card it becomes your internal memory so that u can install ur apps there..im not tht sure about it..but i read it somewhere...
And yes would like to add, Android is evolving .....its not going backwards....yeah the Apps to SD thing ( that we used to get in Gingerbread is missing) but still for the moment its the Mobile OS where u can put your money on......
Even i do have issues with this memory thing, i downloaded around 4.5 gb of games and apps.....:D bt i'll probably remove a few ..download a few new.....i'll only root it once my warranty gets over ( rather even thats not a certainty as i change phones quite often)
But yes this Internal memory thing is a prob if u use those Games which belong to GB category....for the MB category games its fine
KT prime, 05 Aug 2013Yeah its true, From Android ICS onwards u cant Move ur Apps/Games to your SD card...u have to ... moreThat's disappointing mate, one of many reasons to change my phone was low internal memory and now spending money will bring me nothing. Android is going backwards no flash and now this
John D, 05 Aug 2013how many of apps you installed?I have 13 apps so far, and just fine.
jkfooty, 05 Aug 2013Just came across some comments that we can't transfer apps/games to Sd card now, is that true ?Yeah its true, From Android ICS onwards u cant Move ur Apps/Games to your SD card...u have to root it. :D
No apps ( eg. App2Sd) work unless you root the phone.
Its a serious issue as if u download a few big games, then u run out of memory.
( i have around 600mb left :D )

unknown1, 04 Aug 2013Hi all, I am in doubt between HTC Desire X and Xperia-L....... which one is better.......... p... moreYou must be kidding. Desire X is a very low end device in all ways, and it's HTC, meaning it will not be updated beyond 4.1.1
John D, 04 Aug 2013Can anyone please tell me that this phone has LOW INTERNAL MEMORY problem? I want to buy this ... moreGoto Settings - Storage, look at Cached Data. On mine it says 1.6GB. Press on it to delete.
Ps, my Xperia is not L and it runs 4.2.2, the menu options may differ.
