This would be better than iPhone and can possibly change the face of Sony, but I think they cancelled it because of its looks. I mean you could've mistaken it for an iPhone if it wasn't for the label. Plus one designer of Sony said that they want a phone that can be recognized from afar. Like there's a guy texting across the street then you already know, oh, he's using Sony Mobile.

Sony & Ericson story was a real case study for IT security and BCP/DR research students. Long time back Nokia was the leader in market. Ericson also had a good growing market. Both of them bought micro chips and IC's from Philips. but Nokia had a backup chip manufacturer as well, but Ericson was depending on philips only. One day philips company burnt with fire and there all chips and equipments are burnt, but they had a backup store chips and equipments but they also malfunctioned due some issues. Therefore fore a long time philips stopped manufacturing their chips. This coz Ericson serious trouble which make them go with Sony. Finally which made the agreement as Sony Ercison phones to be borned with merged tech. But now finally Sony kicked off ericson and became Sony only Mobiles. Ericson is still have a good market in Healthcare, Teleco products.. But They failed bcoz of their poor infrastructure planning. No proper disaster recovery plan. This is the real Story. How Sony Ericson borned and Sony moved into Mobile phone industry.
