NewSh, 20 Jun 2016Take it easy Sony M4 will get Marshmallow coming months. I don't think it will be updated. Sony makes so many phones they are not interested in further development on a phone from 2015. They want you to buy a new one. They are as bad as Samsung when it come the amount of junk they produce.
I have this problem : everything works fine except the speaker, I can't hear clearly while talking on the phone.
What could be the problem?
The network, the software, the phone itself?
Phone became extremely hot ,around the camera lens area,I have had no problems with camera, video,or Internet,or indeed phone until three days ago,it just froze, and would not turn
off or on ,and is permanently jammed ,I have had to send it away to virgin ,where it's being repaired free of charge, after reading other owners various problems, I may be going back to the shop and changing it for something else
I have had so many problems with this phone.... First... My speaker stopped working. Then the camera stopped working whenever the phone was hot... Then my screen cracked without me dropping it. The crack was not on the outer screen, but only on the inside ... And i then proceeded to change the screen... Once that was fixed... Worked for a month and now it doesn't want to charge.... Can the phone be that bad to have that many issues
My xperia M4 works fine otherwise but it has a very irritating problem of it's microphone not working. It's microphone doesn't work randomly and starts working on its own. I have already tried software repair but to no avail. Can anyone suggest me any solution?
absolutely loved this phone until I got soaked in the rain with my phone in my pocket, the phone got soaked but I dried it off and thought it would be fine because it is meant to be waterproof up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, 3 hours later the phone started to go nuts and now the screen is off and I cant get it to work, this phone is not at all waterproof
Jo, 22 Jun 2016very low internal, very bad camera, waterproof is good, mine is having a blue screen, hard to ... moreThis is a low end & cheap phone. What do you expect.
You just get one for a cheap price to expect the very best features.
Then go and get the most excellent Song phone which is the Z series.
After getting the Z series, you will love it. Sony is a good brand.
I do not prefer as i am getting used to Samsung, Xiaomi, and any cheap phone to throw around and play games.
i just noticed that my sony m4 aqua makes a weird sound when am exiting my camera..it sounds like klick... is it normal please help
Awesome phone, lightning fast, display is exceptional, camera great outdoors and low light.
It does heat, but its like really thin case, but with a basic silicon mask its barely worth mentioning. Cant understand why everybody bitches about this phone. For this money, you cant go wrong with the M4 aqua.
very low internal, very bad camera, waterproof is good, mine is having a blue screen, hard to turn on and slowing down ever since.....i am not buying Sony phone again
DiogoFTuga, 11 Jun 2016Same problem, but my problem happened out of nowhere.Same here.. But wht i do is.. Press Up arrow key and power button for reset the phone.. Thanks ;)
Webby, 15 Jun 2016This is the worst phone I have had yet and I have only had it for a couple of weeks and I extr... moreYou can go to Apps in settings and disable the ones you don't use. It could save some space. Personally I don't use Google services, so I disabled all Google apps. I have some apps, and 1 GB-internal left for now.
My device doesn't have heat problem. Perhaps it's rare, and Sony will repair it for you.
It takes about 2-2.5 hours to fully charge from 15%. I use the stock charger. It seems you can charge the device with some other manufacturers' chargers, or via a USB cable connected to your laptop. I don't know much about hardware, but I think using the stock charger is fastest and safest.
You don't have to manually clean up RAM. You don't need third party apps to clean up RAM either. The operating system will do that for you (I'm an Android programmer, I think that's correct). And from my views, you don't need any anti-virus apps. You shouldn't root your device, so third party apps cannot harm your data. (This might not be perfect, because there would be any security bugs.)
My country doesn't have policies about carriers locking contracts. We buy phones at full prices. Sony doesn't put any weird/crap apps into their devices. I don't know in case of carriers with contracts, such as in the U.S.
It's a good mid range phone for me. My last one was Xperia M2. I don't have much money, so this is my second phone from Sony. I have to say, Sony is doing a great job. I'm quite sure my next one would be another Sony Xperia. I think their products are worth my hard-earn money.
Have a nice day :-)
Still don't have an update. I checked my software online and it say up-to-date but the android version is still 5.0??
I've had loads different phones over the years. Nokia. LG. Motorola. Samsung etc. This is by far the worst. I'll just have to cut my losses & exchange it.
It was my first smartphone and i only can say that it is an epic shit if i compare it with desktop its like using a pentium 4. What i hate most is it speed of process. It is really annoying.
I have had one as part of a contract upgrade for around four months. My main issue is the charge connection which is intermittent and has no almost packed up. A previous Sony model had the same problem. The phone is due to be sent back for repair, which is extremely inconvenient. It also gets very hot and hasn't much storage, otherwise it is okay. I would recommend purchasing one outright.
