Can anyone tells me where to find the manufacturing date of this phone in the box so that I may know what date it is manufactured and please show some photos of the box. I heard that the early batch of m5 gots alot of issues. Dont want to buy a broken m5.

Bought my M5 in April and it has had a problem of freezing thrice already. What happensis I lock my phone after using it but it fails to unlock or display anything when I press the power button again. What is the problem and why does it behave that way? At the moment I have reset the factory settings but I am not sure if that is a permanent solution.
I will appreciate any help rendered to me.

Sony please wakeup? Im a sony fans but very disappointed in this product(M5)... i buy last year... have same issue auto shutdown.... i realize that this phone will auto shutdown when have poor network...
As a big company you should do something to fix it. If cannot fix it, just replaced it with another model or give customer to change another model by paying extra money.... just suggestion........ (Mybe next time will look in other brand)

I've had my Sony Xperia M5 since December. Started having the auto-shutdown problem more or less immediately. The problem is clearly related to mobile network coverage. Whenever the phone has poor network coverage for some time, it dies a sudden death. The only way to get it on again is to recharge. The nasty thing is that I live in a house that has VERY poor network coverage (a brand new house, slightly rural, with iron in walls and windows with films that protect from UV-radiation). NOT good. There are some places in the house where my phone shuts down within a few mins EVERY TIME. I have to basically run the phone from bedroom to the frontdoor to keep it on. This may sound funny but its not. Using 2G/GSM doesn't help, since even 2G coverage is poor in my house. Just installed the newest SW upgrade, hoping it would change things, but based on the comments here it doesn't sound likely. Took the mobile data off completely, let's see if that helps. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. I cannot believe it has been on the market for nine months and still has this type of problems.

Hello all,
I bought my Sony M5 just 10 days ago and yesterday it died!!!!!
It was not completely resistance against water! I put it in water just with 10 centimeter depth for just 1 minute! and what I saw? exactly the part of up and left corner was damaged and water went into it!!!! I got shocked especially when I noticed that the water was coming inside Its LCD!!!! few minutes later it went off with 26 percent charged!!! and till now, it is dead! Another thing is, my father and my aunt bought M5 about 1.5 year ago and both of them are really satisfied of it...I do not know why my mobile phone got dead :(
Its board doesn't work and also it doesn't get flash :( nothing work!!!! Computer can not recognize it by connecting usb...I am really disappointed :(

I think I found the solution of the "shutdown thingy and the 'need-a-charger' to power it on" problem of xperia m5.
Actually I tried doing the *#*#3646633#*#* that sir DK advised us to do, and its effective btw. The only problem is it slows down the internet connection when you use your mobile date. I also tried doing the other one which is changing the network into "manual". That one it didnt work for me 😞.. But thanks so much sir DK. It was very helpful.
Just today I reset my phone and tried changing my sim card into this new 4G LTE SIM and it kinda solve the problem.. I think 😮.. Its been 18 hours and my phone hasn't shutdown yet.. well hopefully.. but I believe this will work. Ill give it another 2 more days and ill update you guyz 😁😁😁

I bought his M5 on May 12th this year, and just using it for about 6days, and then the screen stop working. It xannot be touched at all. Freeze. But the other button, like volume on/off and camera button still work though. Later days i still can use it to listen to music, by my earphone's button. Then I complaint to Sony ID by emails. They said that I should connect my M5 to PC and re-install. But I didn't do that cause how can I supposed to be? While your phone's screen freeze. So I brought it to the Sony Xperia Care in my town. And the services was so terrible. While the other service center and customer care closed about 8pm, Xperia Care's employee said they've been closed at 3pm. So I, who came on 4pm came home. No result at all.
Next day, my brother helped me brought this M5 to the same Xperia Care. They asked for Guarantee Letter and the bill as approvement i bought that thing—not stole it. They said the services will be done in 14 days workdays. So when my brother submit it on May 20th, I assumed it will be done on June 8th. Correct me.
But then, up till now, till this day June 20th—a month later, still no information from Xperia Care. When I called them, they said still in the Care Centre, which is not in the same place as the Xperia Care that I came on. When I asked which Care Center, they said in West Jakarta. But later I called them again, and asked the same question—which Care Center?—they said in North Jakarta.
I know I shouldn't be upset, but it has been a month and still no information about my phone. Is this what Sony is?

Ronnie , 17 Jun 2016Just want to clarify which one is good HTC One A9 or Sony Xperia M5 Go for HTC One A9(or any brand phone units) but not Xperia M5. I bought M5 Xperia last april but after two weeks it has many issues...From my experienced from that phone they just replaced the Motherboard and camera(front and back). No refund nor phone replacement. At the end of the day, you will regret for buying it. :(

Hey guys,
Don't trust Sony anymore. Don't buy their products. They are cheating. If they couldn't fix a simple issue in this model and they didn't offer to replace your phone to other models especially they know the big issue in this phone, it means, it will not fix any issues of other phones. M5 has a big problem with auto shutdown, it's annoying, imagine yourself going from town to town and your phone simply with no warning shutdown and you need to make a call, it's useless. If Sony didn't fix this serious issue for M5 don't expect they will fix any other issues in the other models. They don't care about their customers, so go to other vendors (Samsung, HTC, ...) respect their customers and respect their name.
Don't Don't Don't buy any Sony products. Forget there is name called Sony.
