Dear Guys, Donot buy M5 i purchased this phone after use of 4 month mother board became dead send to service center they replaysed mother board and give back to me, after 1 month of this probem second prolbem comes with earphone send again to service center. again it will take 10-15 days to took back

After reading some of the negative experiences on here with the M5, I'm not sure if I want to get this phone. I might look at getting the Z3, Z3 Compact, or Z5 Compact.

DK it doesnt work for me.. It shutdown. I return my m5 to your previous tweak where in to remove frequency 900 in engineering mode. This method works for me

My sony Xperia M5 turns off itself without any reason even when the battery is more than 70%, in the middle of nowhere. And restarts within few minutes and turned off again. To get it functioning, it has to be pluged for charging for hours. after few hours charging it shows 0% batery and charging ongoing. does anyone know why?.

DK thank you very much for your time and effort for us users of the m5, . what do you mean about revert back to default frequencies? do you mean to disregard the first one you tought about engineering mode and turn off 900??

Sorry i miss pressed my keypad.
And even if it catches the signal, thats fake one which you are not able to use the internet. Like, you get 4g icon but no signal bars.
So what ive tried out is turning auto network search to manual.
And it works. Phone doesnt try to get the signal ruthlessly, and cut off where it is supposed to be. Because in the manual search mode, phone connects to the network which is only listed on your simcard.
So here is the new solution,
but to make sure to see it works, please revert back all the frequencies to default setting.
Setting> more> mobile networks> network operators, after searching finished, set the searchmode to manual, run the search again.
Its done.
And dont forget, sony could have solved that with software, not just battery replacing. They are just bunch of morons.

Hi guys.
After few weeks test, i have managed to solve my wife's m5 shutdown.
But im not sure if it will work on your phones, so I want you guys to test and if it works, please leave the comment for other m5 users.
What ive figured out so far, the phone tries to catch the signal where it cant, drawing out the phone batter voltage so much over its limiation.
Eventually, it leads the phone to shutdown in abnormal process

Official assistance is a nightmare. Defective devices are not replaced, they just send back the same one until the guarantee period expires. Too sad, but true.

I bought sony M5 on the 14/5/16 and it black off on the 17/5/16.I have to send it to sony care center for two weeks repairing.Previously,I have been using sony M2 for two years ,no problem at all. I felt disappointed to sony's poor quality and don't understand why there is no 1 to 1 replacement since we bought tv,laptop etc within 7 days any defects,there would be a replacement?

It switches off randomly for no apparent rea... morewell i have z3 and i dont have that problems,and reason why is that may be mediatek chipset,maybe something isnt compatible with device,app you are using,i dont see other reason,its probably someting like that

Pravi, 12 May 2016I my sony xperia M5 taking rear camera image is not clear why???I got a same problem bro. But I change from 'intelligen auto' mode to manual mood. Than the pic will be clearer.. Also don't know why it's happened that's way.
