the phone shut down 10 time perday ( every time i use elevator ) i will never use sony products ever !

worst phone ever. bought brand new phone, within 2 weeks , would turn itself off and could not turn it back on again unless plugged in. in the process of arguing with sony to get a full refund. AVOID.

replace the battery will do. the auto shutdown will go away. to confirm if its the battery fault download the battery lock test at the XDA forum.

I'am planning to buy one for may GF but I was waiting for the 2nd batch of M5 to arrive here in the PH. I already have Sony C5 (I bought it at SM Megamall) but I do think that M5 is a much better phone, I have no problem with my Sony C5 though, been using it for 5 months now. Thanks in advance.

sony replaced my M5 because t'was suffering from battery lock / autoshut down issue. I waited about a week and now I'm so pleased because my new m5 doesn't have any issues.. YAHOO!!

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2016Dont buy sony xperia m5...its a useless fon...i bot mine in january and its giving me and othe... moreThe M5 seems to have some issues with its Preferred Network Type especially when you go into an area where there is a drop in LTE signal. Go to Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Preferred Network Type and select GSM only. Your cellular data signal will be crippled but the phone wont auto shutdown again.

The problem was my files got corrupetd everytime i transfer files from internal mem to the sd card. Files cannot be opened anymore. I bought it bcos of the cam.. i love love the cam.. but pics/vids i tooks d past 3days and some old files are gone. Have u tried transferring files from internal to sd?

The worst worst worst sony phone ive ever seen..both the cameras went shutdown afer 5 days of buying.. Even though i had the thailand warranty i was helpless coz i live in out of thailand. Disappointed with Sony.dont go for this Shit
