Then it suddenly turns off. We thought it just crashed but then she tried to connect it to charger it turns on again. What a bothersome incident.
Very bad product. I'm waiting for my 4th replacement unit from Sony SC. I think this model might be discontinued very soon.

So you need to change new battery which is v3. Then the problem is solve.
I bought Sony Xperia M5 last December (2015), and I can say I love it. But there's only two things that bother me, one is the battery drains fast (probably my fault but idk), two is it overheats, a LOT, whenever I'm using game apps. Besides that, it's a good phone.
Phone is OK, decent specs.
Little trouble whit the battery(some), nothing that a good service point can't solve.
To any South African's. I can't confirm if it is Sony or MTN. But a friend of mine working in MTN has called me in her official capacity to inform me the M5 has been recalled and I am to return my phone. For those wondering this is actually my third M5 as I returned the previous two due to crashing. And that sort of thing. Having to Jumpstart the phone 20 times a day sort of thing. The one phone I got had not even been pressure tested properly as the phone was not IP68 resistant out the box. The frame of the phone had not even been stuck on properly.
I'm using these phone. sometimes you'll find it hard opening the phone if it stop. you have to use a charger connect it and then you can open. What is the problem there at. Can these be replaced or repaired. What if these happens on the field where in you don't have charger.
I bought the Sony Experia M5 aqua and I have the problems with with the phone, it switches off every time, it get stuck every you try to answer a call. The Cell C network will go away everytime. Can anyone help and Cell C is saying that I should have returned the phone after seven days. Please help and for those who want to buy it please Don't there's so many problem with that device.
i have an xperia M and it works very good, and now i want to buy the M5 but when i read the opinions i dislike it i wront know if i could buy it or not plz reply me !!! thanks

Tell me the problem about that phone I am using it, it shuts down on its own and in order to switch it on u have to plug in the charger or usb cable from ur pc. I bought this phone on the 29 December 2015. On sat I am returning it for repairs. Furthermore, u will charge the battery everyday. However, it has top features.
Everyone complains about this phone. Cell C (Network provider in South Africa) told me that they have received notification from Sony to stop selling the M5 because the first batch was faulty. Apparently Sony might even discontinue the M5 completely.

AnonD-490598, 19 Jan 2016shoud i buy M5 or not plz tell me..!! thanks u ;) yes the center says those that encounter shut down problem had their phone batteries tested and replaced and never came back. guys just go fix the phone... it's inconvenient and takes one to two weeks but it's worth it as it's still a good phone.
regarding the auto shutdown issue, just send in the phone to sony service centre ASAP before warranty ends... standard protocol takes 1 to 2 weeks...
i was told replace battery would solve the issue. i was lucky 'cos they had the replacement so i got my phone back the next day. hopefully this time the problem will not resurface.
