Those who have replacement phone did you gu... moreWhen I complained to Sony Service Centre about the replacement set carrying the same problem as the original set (i.e. shutdown issue) , Sony's response was that to send back the replacement set for checking (yet again !!??). It will mean another 2-3 weeks of loss time for me, without any guarantee that the problem will be solved once and for all. This time I refused.
I stopped using the Sony M5 phone, and in desperation I bought the Samsung A8 instead. It turns out to be a marvelous solution. I am now free of my nightmare with the Xperia M5,
Yes, I lost a lot of money on the M5 (am trying to get a refund from Sony, might need to go to consumer bureau for that matter) but Sony lost a loyal customer like me - and a reputable name is gone as far as I am concerned because they did not do their proper homework on the Xperia M5 phone. (I am in Malaysia). After owning many Sony phones before this incident, I swear I will never again will I buy another from Sony...

Just bought this fon last week. Seriously sony? I had prob with the camera cannot save on sd card, Need reload 1st. sometimes the pic take time to finish the loading, already 8 core still slow. The charges is slow to charged. If i watching movies or playing music while charging the battery keep run out. Im so frustrated with sony now

Nope. I have been waiting for this to be delivered at any Jozi MTN for a month now.
im seeing posts on the xperia m5 dual comments section about the lag/shutdown issue being fixed thru a mainboard replacement by sony, as it already acknowledged the problem (something about the hardware). can anyone else confirm this and is the single sim m5 included in the fix?

Then it's start to shut off with their own..cannot open until u connect with charger and get connection ..Then u can on..I really2 angry and go to change with a new set at Sony Centre at East cost mall kuantan malaysia..new set also got problem..their sound button cannot function..then I go to get solution on Sony..he said Sim card problem .. Bull shit..very2 disappointed with sony. ..it's like Sony stole my money and give me rubbish. No responsible with their business
I think the shutdown thing has to do something with the processor.. I think xperia m5 needs to have sort of a cooling system or app..
i bought M5 dual three weeks ago while i was on vacation outside, i connected my device to PC and the Sony PC Companion prompt me for update,the device came with Android 5.0 the update was to 5.1.1 So the PC Companion completed downloading and asked me to connect my device,i did,it started to upload the update,then a message popup saying that an error occured,would you like to try again,i clicked yes,it started again and when reach the middle of the update,my device turned off and since then my device turned to a dead phone,it does not work anymore,it can not turn on the device.i paid $450 for using this device for two days only.i tried every suggestion in the internet,nothing works.
There is no Sony Dealer in my country,so i can not send it to them,also i bought the device from outside my country and i can not travel there just to repair it.I went to good repair centre here to fix it,but it did not work,even they tried to fix it via Flash&boot Box,the device is completely dead. the Only thing is working is the charging light and it is always red even the battery is full.For three weeks till this moment am looking for somebody travelling to bring it to Sony dealler to fix it,but from the problems i have read here,it seems that this device is a defect but nobody from Sony want to admit it.Am A sony fan,this is the first time face such issue.At the moment am using Z1,i have this device for more than 18 months,it is working perfectly.But this M5,i think there is something wrong with it.
Sony has to do something regarding these issues otherwise we will go for another brand.
16 gb internal memory is not enought. 7-8 gb memory will occupied by Android OS itself. Beside that 4k video will take more space.
Hey can tell me if any one have a problem with headphones when listen music, in the button of headphones 2 pulse changes to the next song but not happen, he paused or turn on Google search I try 3 headphones and the problem persist
