Xperia M5 Phone turns itself off, will not turn back on unless it has been put on charger. Issue occurred only after not even 10days of purchase. Very much disappointed with Sony. :-(

This is simply wrong. Sure, Lollipop 5.0 has lots of issues but constant auto-shutdown is NOT one of them. No other Sony device have been affected by this, let alone other brands.
This failure is exclusive to Xperia M5, has nothing to do with Android 5.0.

I had tried changing to not lte but shutdown still happen. I currently testing if disable stamina mode would solve. As it only happen when data is on,WiFi seem that is does not crash the phone.
I had another issue which would be the snap chat keep crashing and cause my phone camera to be unavailable and require a restart. Does anyone have that issue as well?

We are experiencing the shut down problem here in the Philippines... Seems to be the whole lot of the M5 is defective.Sony has not given any solutions... I bought mine from an authorized Sony Store in Hongkong.. Five days after returning to the Philippines, this auto shutdown comes up...now I can't use it anymore because anytime it just shuts down even in full battery power. You can't even turn it on with the power button. You have to re-plug it in with the power charger to turn it on again... What a pain in the neck...this model needs a worldwide recall.

AnonD-447664, 17 Oct 2015I would like to buy one of Sony phone; M5 dual, C5 dual or Z3.
So I would like to request you... moreDismiss M5 as the device having extreme auto-shutdown constantly issues.
C5 Ultra for :
- Better rear camera and probably the best front camera with flash.
- Better hardware
-Bigger screen, according to your taste.
-Better colour accuracy on screen
- Beautiful design with a bezelles body
-Dust and water resistance
- 4K video recording if you have a 4K TV
- Smaller screen, according to your taste.
Anonymous, 17 Oct 2015which country are you from?Hi im from Indonesia. The funny thing the M5 is not even launched yet here. May be they arr putting it on hold because all the sofware issues on the phone:) ..... last week I got to play around with the phone in a shop in singapore, I was curious about the camera, so I was playing around with the camera, I had to restart the phone twice because it hanged. So forget M5, if the user opinion on the Z5 is good thats the one im going to get.
I would like to buy one of Sony phone; M5 dual, C5 dual or Z3.
So I would like to request your kind suggestion on it.

AnonD-447954, 07 Oct 2015Thanks for the reply and yes please do let us know how the phone is after sending it to Sony i... moreYup. My phone randomly shutdown. And cannot turn it on unless you charge it. I already factory reset it twice but it always shutdown.
chjn, 09 Oct 2015Did you get the shutdown with your new phone? Didyou get any sony update when you bought the phone?I just bought Sony m5, and using it for just a couple of days now. Problem is random shutdown, and i cannot turn it on unless i plug-in the charger. When the phone shutdown, hard reset is not possible. I also noticed that the time and date always reset. And now I'm going to the Sony service center if they can do something about it, and they should do. The phone is too expensive with such quality.
