This problem is in first batch. I git new batch m5 and it doesn't heat as much, it does not have autoshutdown issue and it runs faster (which is odd).

regret buying this phone. aft 1 month, hang and auto shuts down. then, off forever. have sent to sony ctr and almost 3 weeks ady, havent got bck the phone. it seems prob in motherboard. planning to change to vivo v3.

This phone has been a pain in the bug. I have a Sony M5 Dual. In South Africa it was first released by Cell C, Vodacom and MTN(not sure if they released it) only came late but released late but not the dual SIM.
Firstly when I wanted to log on to internet banking because I receive confirmation notification on my phone, it was giving me errors, When I try to run USSD codes, eg Checking of balance, recharging , or doing banking even running some applications a get an error messages that says “Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped”
I tried all what I can to correct the error, clear cache, revert to original settings, un-updated software applications, etc. Everything does not work. But when I even deleted all my data without backup, so that I start afresh, it worked for a day, and the error message appeared again.
It took a lot of troubleshooting only to find that when you turn the notifications off it what causes the error. Because working in an open plan area you can’t be having beeps every time the a message enters. I informed sony.
After some time new software update was released and the error was solved. Now there is a new error where the phone automatically switch itself off, nothing you do, no matter how much you try to reset or press the power button. Unfortunately the battery is not removable, so it was not an option.
So for now if it is off, when I troubleshoot it I found out that if I power it on it (connect it it a charger), it activate the battery and I am able to turn it on. But it is an inconvenience as I have to carry a power bank with me).
There other thing because I decided to insert different network simm cards on the phone, when I set it to charge data cost to a specific simm, and it charges on both despite setting it correctly. Still trying to investigate if it is a phone problem or a network related problem.
I always have a problem with all Sony phones, told myself that I will never buy a sony problem again after the Satio(U1) flop but came back because I wanted a Dual SIM smart phone.
Don’t they test their phone before they release them ?, I am done with Sony phones after my contract expire.

If you lazy just download xperia TM Home 10.0.A.0.40 from (http://apkmirrir.com) and install, its has drowdown menu detect USB Device.

This is a manufacturing defect which has impacted many phones and is covered under warranty. Have Sony give you a loaner phone if they can not fix it the same day.

I have repaired my phone software via xperia companion , and updated to android 5.1 . Now i have no issues with phone .
But little disappointed with battery capacity it must have atleast 4000 mah with this many specifications contained in this mobile . 2600 mah is not enough for this mobile
