Anonymous, 14 Jan 2013Return your phone where you bought it, battery of this unit is good. It's probably nothing wrong with the phone. He should just give it couple full cycles of charge/discharge.
Most of people who complains "... I just upgraded to ICS and my battery sucks..." don't realize they need to treat battery same way as when they bought the phone.
I m trying to use whats app but after installing when I m trying to activate it by putting my number it just circles and does not get any one time sms from whats app and just circles and get message cannot connect please check the connection or reboot your phone. I tried doing it but nothing happens. Please help
shuvro, 13 Jan 2013i has been using SE Xperia mini pro and now when I am all but decided to buy this Xperia P, bu... moreMost of the negative comments came from people who expect full day of battery on heavy usage, which is impossible in this price range.
Others complained on poor stand-by time that was present on GB, until ICS brought Extended stand By option.
Finally, some less experienced user install lot's of bloatware which drains battery, and then blame it on Sony.
Battery life of Xperia P is on par with other smartphones in it's class.
If you think that other smartphones perform better, think twice, HTC One S with nominally larger battery (although also faster CPU) have pretty much the same battery life under similar usage pattern, and when the battery falls under 15-10% it drops to 0% (on stand-by) noticeable faster then Xperia P.
i has been using SE Xperia mini pro and now when I am all but decided to buy this Xperia P, but the user comments and all the negative review on SXP battery made me confused. SE Xperia mini pro, with a smaller screen had 1,200 mAh battery but SXP, with a bigger screen, has only 1,305 mAh???
SXS feels too bulky on my palm, otherwise I would have purchased SXS already. I really dont want to go to samsung or HTC, but i am afraid i will have to.
can anyone plz give the link of appropriate softwar for using datacable?
lt's very unfair that I cannot upgrade my warranty of sony Xperia p, I think something fault on Sony products,by this reason Sony cannot give the options of upgrade warranty, where as other brand give the option of upgrade warranty e.g-Nokia,Samsung etc
Sagor,Bangladesh, 11 Jan 2013my Sony Xperia has a great problem...it is not charged when I plug in the charger.....now what... moremine does the same, but restart it before or while you charge it and he returns to normal
solly85, 12 Jan 2013please guys I want help please what is the most update that can make Xperia p battery save mor... moreNewest update is always most polished on (although they always have some new bugs, which might affect more or less certain group of users), so it's always good to have latest firmware.
If some important bug appear (like this one with camera on Xperia P), in rather short time we will have update that fixes this bug.
As for the battery, since ICS update with Extended Stand-By option, it's safe to say that user programs affect battery life more then firmware changes itself.
What I'am saying is this; if you have bunch (or just a few) programs that runs in background and keep system 'alive' (anti-virus, battery savers, task killers, instant messengers etc.) it is likely that all these tasks will spend more energy then some newest 'super-duper' firmware would be able to save.
I don't know for regular (minor) updates, but OS changes (like that one from GB to ICS) erases battery calibration file, and you need to do couple full charge/discharge cycles, and after that you can charge and discharge your battery as you wish.
beck, 12 Jan 2013You have GPU info wrong! it should be Adreno 205 not mali-400Think twice, what company would sell it's product to direct competitor?!!!
Adreno 205 is product of Qualcomm used in their Snapdragon line of SoC-s, and as such it's not likely to be incorporated in ST-Ericsson NovaThor SoC which uses ARM Mali, and PowerVR GPU-s.
