AnonD-224154, 14 Jan 2014Hi all, I have a xperia P handset. i want to know whether on-the-go function is available in ... moreOTG does work on Xperia P, but unfortunately, you cannot be sure if it's going to work with that device until you try it. (fyi, some ORG cables works with Xperia P, and some don't).
Galaxy S2 was flagship in its time, Xperia P was just one in line. But, each one has it's own strength, so it's up to You to decide.
Anonymous, 14 Jan 2014Rooting is kind of hard to me, but I will try system repair. Thank you maxym! Rooting is an easy thing to do, just search for Doomlord easy root on xda-developers forum, and you'll be done in couple minutes (procedure is like this, you download short program from the net, connect your phone, start downloaded application on your PC, and follow instructions, after one minute your phone will reboot, and you will get root privileges).
I's easy and simple (no need to flash pre-rooted ROM like on other smartphones).
Don't be scared, you cannot damage your phone, and need not to be superscientist to do this.
I have a xperia P handset. i want to know whether on-the-go function is available in this handset.I want to buy HYBRID DUAL PENDRIVE For Mobile and Tablets & it works only if OTG function is there.

[deleted post]It's hard to say what is the cause of your problem, but you might solve it with Battery Calibration program (from PlayStore). Your phone has to be rooted so, if you don't want to root the phone, you can perform battery calibration with System Repair and proper charge cycle (discharge until phone 'dies' then charge up to 100% without disconnecting charger, and charging for at least 4-5 hours.
After I charge my phone, the battery percentage on the status bar shows 100%. But when I go to power management section, and the battery usage graph shows phone is charged less than 100%. But if I restart my phone while charging then the graph and status bar accurately shows 100%....! Why is this happening?

Only way to fix it is to do Repair through PC Companion (you can install it from your phone) or Sony Update Service (better option) which you can download from Sony official pages.
You need to go to System update option in either of these programs, and after you get message that your system is already updated, you will get option to Repair.
Your pictures and documents (and everything in \sdcard folder will not be deleted but you will have to setup your phone again (synchronize your contacts with Google if you didn't do it before).

AnonD-85430, 09 Jan 2014I see, thanks for the advice. Btw, what is rooting? What does it to to ur phone? I'm kinda hes... moreIf your warranty on phone is already expired, then rooting doesn't change anything.
You already got explanation about rooting, just to explain a little more: By default, regular user of Android phone doesn't have maximum privileges. This is done in order to prevent viruses and malvares to eventually change important system data.
Equivalent in PC world would be Administrator rights for 'root', and User rights for regular user. Usually you access your PC with User rights, and if some of your programs need to access system data you have start it with 'Run as Administrator' option, otherwise it wouldn't work.
There are some useful programs on PlayStore that wouldn't work (or at least not up to full potential) without 'root' access, like firewalls (regulating what program have permission to access GSM data or WiFi connection, system backup programs, CPU speed control programs, browsing system folder, etc. And most importantly, without root you cannot flash custom ROMs.
