Kevv, 17 May 2012Why some of you guys compare the Xperia P with the Samsung Galaxy S2? The S2 is a high-end pho... moreYou are absolutely right Kevv. 80% of samsung phones look similar, sony phones are always different and superb in design and quality.
rabit33, 20 May 2012Let me correct you man! This phone is made up of genuine aluminium unibody along with a desig... moreYou don't get it, do you? I don't mean to say Xperia P's specs are bad. The aluminium body and White Magic Technology are just an exculpation for the over-exaggerated and unjustifiable price. The phone clearly is a mid-range one and not a high-end phone. And no one in their right mind would shell out such huge bucks for a mid-range phone. Needless to say, just a couple of thousand bucks more would get you an Xperia S, a high-end phone!
Anonymous, 20 May 2012please correct the GPU. its not mali-400. its age old adreno 205. please check spec doc on son... moreDownload the latest version (version 2 dated April '12) of whitepaper (detailed spec sheet) from Sony global website. They have corrected the mistake in it. What you are reading is version 1 of February '12. Check it yourself in new document. GPU is Mali-400.
Also, NovaThor chipset by ST ERICSSON doesnt support Adreno 205 or any other GPU expect Mali 400. So it cant have that GPU.
please correct the GPU. its not mali-400. its age old adreno 205. please check spec doc on sony website.
do your guy think this is a problem?
Grishm, 20 May 2012I'm not surprised with Sony's pricing of INR 25000 for this phone. Sony comes up with outdated... moreAnd if you had purchased the S2 when it first came out then you will have faded blues. Yes Samsung have said they have gone back to pentile on teh S3 as the S2 style screen degrades too fast (the problem is the blue pixels).
hey but those out of the box S2 reviews would have been fantastic, enjoy.
This is a much more premium phone than an S2 so you can't compare price. At 217ppi the S2 internet browsing will be very poor for reading text etc in comparison to the Xperia P. The Xperia P has more pixels and is still a smaller phone. That's better tech.
So if you want a cheap phone buy an S2

This phone is made up of genuine aluminium unibody along with a design which makes it feel premium. It also has mobile Bravia engine and xLoud technology from Sony which makes video and audio experience more pleasurable. Whitemagic technology makes display twice brigter. Sony's timescape UI is more eye candy and functional and offers lot deeper social network integration than Touchwiz on SII.
What are the advantages of SII? nothing expect processor and bigger display. Whats the use of it when Xperia P has enough juice to even run Android Jelly Bean?
SII is like BMW engine in tata nano..! period!
Xperia P is latest in town, nice design, sturdy body, latest Sony technologies and what not. Its a lot more complete and up to date package for 2012. Price of 25K is well justified by all these things and it will fall to less than 22K within 3-4 months and by that time, SII will be completly outdated where Xperia P will have at least 1 year more lifecycle remaining.
Hey Guys, Can somebody please clarify whether the xperia P has the 3D surround audio technology or not?. It seems both U and S have it.Thanks.
Grishm, 20 May 2012I'm not surprised with Sony's pricing of INR 25000 for this phone. Sony comes up with outdated... moreCould you please enlighten me with what you see as outdated than S2? Coz i'm planning to go for s2 or xperia p.
guyz xperia p gonna release after diz coming week......and the price is costing about 24500 bucks.......as we know the policy of sony more price at the opening but according to me guyz if anyone can wait a more month u will et this phone around 20000.......which is seriously great
I'm not surprised with Sony's pricing of INR 25000 for this phone. Sony comes up with outdated specs and yet charges a premium. When compared with Samsung Galaxy S II's price of INR 26000, this phone comes as a bummer. A price around INR 20000 for this phone would have been a runaway deal.
