Anonymous, 02 Mar 2012Can you provide as links(s) for those info you've mentioned?
I can't provide any links for the power saving capability for the Novathor chipset used by the Xperia P, and the best you can do is to read up on the whitepaper of the Whitemagic screen
I'll leak a screenshot of the Xperia P and the multiple facets of the battery under daily use once both I'm allowed to and when when I get the chance
For the battery life of the XS, I've leaked it somewhere in the posts of the Xperia S user comments page
Cowz, 02 Mar 2012WhiteMagic info:
http://developer.sonymobile.com/wp/2012/02/27/introducing-whitemagic-the-tec... moreDon't worry about the white subpixel too much
Having seen the red Xperia P in person, I can vouch for it being much better than the RGBW sub pixel layout used on the Motorola Atrix, for example
For the record, check the Xperia S posts and youtube Zephsters, been holding the Xperia S for a week and a half now
If I can procure that Xperia P for tests, I'll be sure to feedback to you guys here
So,there is no phone with price tag at 300-400 euro right?I have the feeling they didnt split the phones correctly to the badget scale...
it has micro sd card slot.this site made a mistake.go to sonymobile.com and check.it has up to 32g support micro sd.
I think this phone is already good enough
With 13 gb, you can store many of the android apps, 13 gb for me is not a small amount for storage
The problem is the price.. How much would it be? So let's just wait.. I hope it's reasonable enough..
Of course you can buy a USB flash drive with a USB to micro USB adapter to connect it to the phone because the phone has USB on the go function. Therefore you can copy the phone memory content to the USB drive.
But it is extremely slow and cumbersome. And you still cannot have more than 13 Gb of mp3, video, photos.. on your phone at one time.
Silly Sony, how hard is it to have a memory card slot, even all 30 $ chinese phones have it ! And with Full HD video, 13Gb memory is fast full.
Was it so difficult to include a memory card slot ? Only 13 Gb available ! Very wrong decision from Sony...Especially as the phone is not really thin. Cannot think of a single reason.
Can somebody please please tell me the expected price of this phones when it is going to be released in india?? the most relevent and close one PLEASE
I don't have any cribs regarding design or battery or absence of card slot. The deal breaker for me is the unjustifiable overprice. A mid-range phone with a price tag more than high-end Samsung Galaxy S II?! Sony got to be kidding us!
Hey guys its not mid range phone its costier rs30,000 its better to tk s2 or g s advance.....
Zephyron, 01 Mar 2012TL;DR for previous post
Xperia P has reduced battery size to keep the pphone size down
X... moreOnly thing is that the Panasonic Eluga is smaller with a 4.3 inch screen (and a slightly smaller battery again).
I was really hoping that someone would release a smaller 4" phone.
That may be a 50% screen saving but how much battery usage would that equate to? 15% saving?
The other fear is that too much white would make colours look washed out in normal light. I guess Sony would have allowed for that and would have built in logic to allow a higher proportion of white light (note I said proportion) in bright sunlight where it would be useful and is less likely to create a washed out look.
@siphotwit1, 01 Mar 2012The Sony Xperia P looks to be a great mid-range phone and may be a more economic choice than t... moreare u kidding? How is this phone a mid range? Its a high end smartphone. Its got nothing less than gs2, nexus, iphone 4s, nokia 900, or the rest droids phones. So if they are high end this high end smartphone too.
