khan!!, 19 Jul 2013But some of the comments which I read says that most of the apps n functions stop working when... moreTotally wrong.
The differences between ICS and JB for most programs are so small that most of the programs works without problems. Majority of software developers are updating their programs promptly with each Android update, so after firmware update all the programs will be updated too.
There are only some small group of programs that could be affected (namely these written in 'dirty' way, that is, not following official programming guidelines).
Most of the problems arise when some system utility (or more often, combination of system related programs) is interfering with new firmware, but that's easily solved with clean install (repair), and installing only programs that behaves properly.

After every firmware update you might get issues with your phone, but that's easily solved with Repair option in PCC or SUS.
Software problem cannot become hardware problem.
Newest firmware update works quite fine (much better then some other updates before, and if you have issues with your phone, stop bashing here for nothing and fix your problem by: backup important data, factory reset, repair with SUS, install only programs that you use, bring back the data.

biju, 17 Jul 2013My photo album is not working.....plz helpGoto Settings>Application>ALL>ALBUM.
Clear Cache, Data, and Force Stop! it works for me..
biju please follow the steps to fix the album issue:
Menu > Settings > Apps > All > Albums > Clear Data and reboot your phone.
But it may just a temporary fix for some users. Repeat the same above if you encounter the same issue. Hopefully Sony will fix this bug in the next update.
Is that possible to use this phone with nice connectivity to Ethiopia. ZTE net work
naz, 18 Jul 2013sir data in sense?what about the images and contacts? When You do regular update (not repairing, and not choosing to format the phone) no data is affected, so after regular update all your contacts, pictures, music, video, programs etc. will be on your smartphone.
Only if you are having problems with your phone after update (that's what happened to all this folks complaining here about JB, and ICS before) then you have to repair, that is, do clean install of JB, which means your Phone memory will be erased, and the phone will act same as when you first bought it. But even then, your /sdcard folder will not be deleted (pictures, videos, documents, downloads...), only the installed programs will be erased, and contacts also, but you can sync it from google, and install programs from PlayStore.
in my phone, it is showing update and also shows computer required. when i update it it fails. so i am requesting to please send me the procedure of updating phone. thanks
