But why... Looks like a 2012 phone with 2016 tech, I'm assuming the extra $2,000 is for the 4k display and the 512GB storage, nothing else is worth more than $500 combined.

Z2 and Z3 had 32GB for few markets.
Z3+ was 32GB, z5 too.
X Perf and XZ had 32/64GB.

absurd...
that 12/512 looks good on paper, but makes the phone bom cost unnecessary expensive...
i know they do it, so they can refer to it as partly culprit for the pricing.,..
but realistically spec wise, its not the best..
i personally would not pay this price, cos the only thing that i see as special, is the video format... and thats not worth an extra $1400

I will stay with my Huawei Y9 ..........I just want to say that the Sony Xperia line-up is incredible and so is this phone but Sony targets it at professionals and it has a 6.5 inch 4k HDR OLED display with 12gb of ram and a 4000mah battery and is an incredible phone but I would recommend the Sony Xperia 1 mark 2 or the Sony Xperia mark 2

I bought the Xperia XA Ultra when it first came out. Yes it was a well built phone with zero performance lag and a great camera at that time. But the premium Sony charged at that time for a 3GB mem / 16GB storage config was way too much. So I shifted to Asus Zenfones and later to Xiaomi Mi series phones. Sure my Mi 10 & 10T pro has bloatware, minor software related issues, but it sure beats forking out $2500 for a Sony.

they left the philippines because most buyers there only care about max ram, rom, mah and not how they optimize those things... heck, other flagships are also cutting mah, you only get those on midrange intended to last for a year?
sony even prefer malaysian markets more than ph...

All phone back panels are made of plastic then they are coated with ultra thin layer of fragile glass. Also this phone has unibody which is a lot more rigid than sandwich design with weak frames and back panels.

People complaining this phone is too expensive, did you ask yourself are you a professional photographer? I owned this phone and this phone is everything my friends using iphone and samsung brand phones and when they saw my phone in real life they stop using their phone starting to ask about my phone and they got jealous I also owned iphone /samsung and one plus phone but when I bought this phone I almost forget to use my other phones camera is great, screen reso, quality of the phone.
