hafiz, 01 Mar 2013Yes....may i know what was in the box...i juz only got 2 usb cable...in car charger...charger.... moreyeah i got HDMI cable and 3 or 4 pcs NFC tag, also hv screen protector which is already hv many scratch on it rite now...haha. really good phone but late update for JB
Had the phone for around 2 weeks now and the only two issues I have are the battery (which to be fair has improved a little since having the phone, could be better but it's tolerable for me). Second is the soft key response. While the touchscreen itself is spot-on, I find the three soft keys are not responsive as most of the time they require two or more presses to register a response. It seems that sliding up slightly on the button seems to work 90% of the time.
Apart from those two things, the phone is superb. The Walkman (music player) throws out some incredible sound even with my standared nokia earphones. Screen clarity is another plus and colours are vibrant. Games play really well NFS Most Wanted is one game that really shows this phone's ability to handle some really intense games, even though it's not quad core !
I bought it with 4.0.4. ics pre installed and it did not come with flashplayer and since flashplayer is no longer on the playstore, I had to google an apk version of it. However once I found one that worked, flash works great !
Another thing that I want to mention, is that although the phone lacks a removable battery as such, you can still relpace it by sliding of the back cover and using a screwdriver to open the panel which then opens from the side which you can then carefully remove the battery.
There is no sd card slot so rely on the on board memory.
Overall a superb phone due to it's £199 price tag via phones4u (and thats for the unlocked simfree version ;)
Yes, I got pretty much the same things in the box. No hdmi cable (like I got with my arc s). The nfc tags I had to purchase seperate :(
Don't bother buying this phone chaps. I bought this, as it was reasonably priced in comparison to the Samsung phones with similar specs. But, been heavily disappointed by the phone. The soft keys dont respond well, require hard press or press more than once sometimes. The volume can be increased or decreased only in big chunks but not in small bits. So, using phone on low volume isnt possible. The list goes on. The phone is not user friendly. Most apps pre-loaded on phone were outdated & required to be updated. I wouldnt recommend this phone.

The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean is said to have a much smoother UI and also has an extended battery mode option.
The update also brings the built-in HDR camera capability and the Wi-Fi connection appears to be more stable than before.
Furthermore, the browser quick commands wheel in the labs section is well organized and responsive. The keyboard too is more sensible now and the update will surely refresh the Xperia S user experience.
will be available by pc companion and i believe not ota in april
is this fone gud to buy....i am gonna buy...is tis fone really works gud and...is it really speed to use...and how abt gprs..
The phone has many excellent features, but others leave me disappointed. For instance, If I have just ended a call and another comes through I can't answer it until I've switched off the screen and then opened it, again. Another is that the homescreen only auto-rotates when fully charged. Otherwise you have to operate the phone in portrait mode.
The messages to alert you on this mobile is disgusting! For example I had a bad internet connection so my phone alerted me by saying "this is your fault! Not our, I suggest you check your settings" I'm sorry but I dont appreciate my phone telling me it's my fault for a bad signal!
unais, 28 Feb 2013I would like to buy this phone.i think, lack of external slot is more discomfort.if do u have a... morethe bigger problem is the "non-removable battery" I was about buying this set until I noticed that the battery is built in. I don't accept loosing an expensive phone just bcuz its battery is dead.
Owner Of Xperia S
As a view point of Developers, This Is A Really Good Phone With Price Now Reduced.

This is a good buy. And With CAYANOGEN MOD 10 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Works As A Charm!
Sony Will Upgrade Xperia S To Stock Jelly Bean This Summer Around April.
