aiza, 15 Dec 2012first i saw this phone is really nice but sad to know the video call is doesn't work... :( video-call is working. Video call does work through wifi only using 3rd party apps like Skype or Tango. Most, if not all, smartphones nowadays video-call does not support 3G network because it's expensive ulike wifi which is free. May be you are using video-call through 3G network that's why you said it is not working.

Sometime, the proximity sensor is not properly working. This is the only issue I had with my Xperia S after updating to the latest firmware xxxx.50. Xperiablog said that firmware xxxx.55 is already available but nothing yet in Saudi Arabia. I just hope that this very latest firmware update will fix the proximity sensor issue.
Pictures taken with the XPERIA SL :>
It is right there is no auto brightness mode. But it auto adjusts the brightness as per lighting
slumberzwatt, 11 Dec 2012That's true, buddy! Xperia S had all what I want but the most worst things about sony phones i... moreEven there is no External mememory. you can can a free 50GB memory from "Box" service. It was available to Sony Xperia S user for free if you signed up. So you have a total of 82GB of storage. Even with a card slot, you have to pay to buy your memory card. Whereas with this phone, you can get free 50GB cloud storage. I have signed up and I am enjoyiing this 50GB free storage. So nothing to complain.
Ampatuan, 15 Dec 2012hi guys .. need some help on this one .. does skype works on xperia s ? here in the philippine... moreThis is my opinions about SXS as I used it for 3 months:
1. Design- 9/10
2. Performance- 8/10
3. Battery- 6/10 (the baterry drain fast)
4. Features- 9/10
5. Camera- 9/10
6. Video (recording/playback)- 10/10 (I compared with Samsung Galaxy Note ll, SXS is better)
7. Loudspeaker- 8/10
8. Screen display- 10/10 (AMOLED screen type which is use on Samsung is not bad)
9. Signal detection for network- 7/10
10. Memory (RAM/internal memory)- 8/10 (I think it's better to use an external memory than internal memory. Because the internal memory/internal storage can't let us save as many as we want!)
nadia, 14 Dec 2012I was using xperia arc from one year now got S Xperia... I really not satisfied at all..this p... moreYeah, I got the same opinion about SXS. This phone will get warm/hot up to 45 Celcius if I surf the internet! But my SXS works well for surfing internet untill I got an update for the latest ICS. Now, when I try to open Facebook/web browser the phone always said "cannot retrieve the proxy server...proxy server refused". And the same problem when trying to open Google Store. It always failed to open and said that "No Connection..Retry" although the phone got an excellent signsl (signal bar is full)..but this never happen before. I really hope that SXS will get an update for Jelly Bean as soon as possible..
Many peoples gone wrong thought about SXS RAM/MEMORY because they didn't even know the MEMORY is just for ESTIMATE/NOT ACTUAL. For an example the RAM for SXS is 1GB. But the ACTUAL MEMORY is not 1GB but might be only 600MB or 650MB. Because some memory is being used for phone's operating system. This is as like as the EXTERNAL MEMORY (memory card, even USB flashdrive). For an example, if a memory card has 32GB, but the ACTUAL MEMORY (userable) is not 32GB, might be only 27GB-30GB because some memory is being used for an operating system. *Type of memory is not ACTUAL, it's just for ESTIMATED* >_-

Xperia s price is far lower than s3, you shouldn't compare them.
PLZZZZ tell me because im confused and I want a new mobile phone for NEW YEAR.I really like the design of Sony Xperia S but I read rumours about Samsung Galaxy S4 which was superb. But there are also rumours abot SONY XPERIA ODIN AND YUGA and they were WOW. sooooo.... should I buy SONY XPERIA S or wait? :((((
Overall no problem except for one; the proximity sensor, every time I end my call I should always press the power button just to press "End Call" which means hassle. Please fix this Sony.
AnonD-52029, 15 Dec 2012@md2yasar Hey ! Are u serious ??? Please confirm....I'm eagerly waiting fr jelly bean... moreIt's in the news, probably by next week most 2012 Xperia will have JB. Incase of delay it could be first week January at most. Rejoice xperians.
I want you people to tell me whether I should buy xperia s, xperia sl or xperia ion and if i buy xperia sl or xperia ion, are they worth the extra money I would pay for them instead of buying sony xperia s?
