GIO, 03 Apr 2012YEAH this phone is good.. BUT IF IT GOES ABOVE 40 Degrees Celcius you will notice the yellow t... morenot everyone have the yellow tint. If your's persist, go to your nearest sony service center
AnonD-38108, 02 Apr 2012i guess that so...cuz i didn't feel that this update is targeting the battery performance more... moreHopefully a better battery life with ICS especially now that Sony mentioned an app called "Performance Assistant" to optimised RAM management because Sony's 2011 Xperia family has only 512 RAM which is to be upgraded to ICS. I hope this Performance Assistant app applies to all their Xperia family (2011 & 2012). I'm still using my Xperia Arc as my second phone and I will see how this app works as my Xperia Arc has 512 RAM only (I don't expect to be more faster with this app but I would expect at least the same level of speed as it was with ICS). BTW, my Sony Xperia S battery performance is getting better each day after 6 days of charging as I have monitored the battery performance since Day 1.
AnonD-38108, 02 Apr 2012i guess that so...cuz i didn't feel that this update is targeting the battery performance more... moreICS use/drain more battery than GB when the phone/screen is used, but have better standby than GB!
AnonD-41500, 03 Apr 2012I think that it would be the only Android to consider after owing a Nokia N9... Very true...after owing a Nokia N900 and Nokia N9, if any android we want to consider then this SXS is the one...great camera functionalities and dual core is more than enough for a phone...and now as far as display issue is concerned, Sony is replacing all the defective devices for free. Very cool design...wish there was polycarbonate covering and corning gorilla glass display as Nokia N9 has...then this would be second to none android device. Also i m goin lil over the edge with my wish list....hope this SXS had Meego OS in it...wud be a still more rocking device....
GIO, 03 Apr 2012YEAH this phone is good.. BUT IF IT GOES ABOVE 40 Degrees Celcius you will notice the yellow t... moreSamsung phone like SG2 has many users burn in screen, thats why 90% of GS2 users set the screen down to 50%.
Second, it is for s smal batch of the production not the whole production.
I think that it would be the only Android to consider after owing a Nokia N9...
YEAH this phone is good.. BUT IF IT GOES ABOVE 40 Degrees Celcius you will notice the yellow tint in the sides of the screen... too bad they are advertising the phone as the "Best" screen out there.. :(
I so much want to buy this phone as great camera phone is important to me but I just looked at it today at the store and I didnt like the design much. It easily dropped and didnt feel much comfortable in hands. It seems it will be hard to operate using one hand.
Still confused whether I should buy this or iphone 4s. I need to urgently buy a phone now coz my favorite satio got stolen :( I have always been Sony fan I was all set to buy this phone but design was a bit turn off.
andi, 02 Apr 2012I got updated my SXS as well a couple of days ago. I think so it's only a bug-fix update to ma... morei guess that so...cuz i didn't feel that this update is targeting the battery performance more than bug fixes. i've noticed the bugs & it fixed it & that was pleasant to me. I agree wid u that XS may need a battery performance update but i'm also satisfied wid this battery life. yeah we always seek much more battery life but so far mine survive for 12h30m with data transfer on 3G or wifi plus calls & music playing.not bad at all. but playing videos with bravia engine on is a battery sucker. About ICS, i've read so much about it & one of its main targets is to be a less battery consumer OS than gingerbread. so hopefully it gets that benefit.
Can anyone tell me hows the battery life and are all android apps working Im Gonna Buy within 2 days Plz help
AnonD-38108, 02 Apr 2012I got a new firmware update to my Xperia S last night.it was with Build # 6.0.A.3.73...its not... moreI got updated my SXS as well a couple of days ago. I think so it's only a bug-fix update to make the SXS running even more smoother. The most complaint about the SXS (all Android smartphones anyway) is the battery life. I've got a reasonable battery life turning off the wi-fi if I don't need it. I just turned it on when I need to check my Facebook, Twitter, e-mail then I turned it off again. I changed only from WCDMA(preferred)GSM to GSM only. It gives me a very reasonable battery life. BUT I still believe Sony must release a firmware update to make the battery life even longer because I think the ICS is more battery sucking because of its true multi-tasking feature (not a mere apps switcher) like what we have got with Gingerbread.
I got a new firmware update to my Xperia S last night.it was with Build # 6.0.A.3.73...its not an ICS update. what i read about it that it's for some bug fixes & battery improvement. yeah it fixed the bugs i noticed but overall these bugs aren't noticeable at all. but that's sony support service & how it cares about customers & their phones.
I bought this phone from my friend as 2 hand who didnt like and wanted to continue with his samsung Galaxy S. He opted to wait for Galaxy 3. In its first day it got first scratch and my friend told me that his samsung been used more than 1 year and coped no scratch. I ve been using this phone like 3 weeks everything great according to me. Weak points are sometimes it doesnt recognize when you touch one of three buttons located at bottom. Second point is its GPS very weak. I tried to navigate through it, 2 or 3 times it failed and all the time I got help from my friends HTC desire S. Other point is its screen never remains clear, all over finger prints and needs to be clean frequently. Lastly couldnt access to internet from my office modem I thing it has some issues with WPA2 or other complicated encryption and I believe when OS upgrated the problem will be fixed as in my old LG optimus.
Those problems never prevailed over its perfectnes.
I basically can live with this problems If you cant then consider this post. its camera and other things are so remarkable.
advice, 02 Apr 2012I agree with u in most of what u said but I need to correct 2 things ,first :there is an issu... morefirst thanks for ur reply...
about the capacitive buttons: i saw too many people complaining about..even before i bought it i was afraid to find it really unresponsive or be a problem. but after i bought it i didn't find it unresponsive at all. yeah maybe they are dots but once ur finger got just near the dot it reacts. i wrote that to make it clear to those who complain..also many of my friends thought that they have to touch the icons in the transparent bar.
about the rating..yeah i can agree with u but i wrote that just i saw gsmarena wrote a couple of articles about the XS & one of them was a comparison with GSII. all of them were so good & lifting the XS to be on top of all other phones on market plus proving that the XS is a very competitive phone & an amazing phone. so i just connected the rating with the highly recommending reviews written by gsmarena.
