Anyways, Root solution for the Xperia S has been released
Follow the XDA thread here
There's no native video calling feature on the Xperia S, only Video Chatting, and that is done through Skype, Google Talk, QQtalk or any other app that utilizes the FFC for communication
i want to buy this phone. has somone tried video calls from this phone
what ???, 06 Mar 2012There's no Ex Memo Card Slot !!! I just Can't believe this, What with being called superphon... moreExternal Memory Cards have slow read/write speeds. The 1080p video files that the camera records have a bitrate of 14MBps which no memory card will support. That is why they have made a 32GB internal memory which is very fast. And for people who need internal and well as external, go for other 2012 Xperia phones... Still not satisfied???? Sony has more phones in store which are yet to be announced.... Just wait and see...
Alex, 05 Mar 2012Trust me, the Xperia S is way better. First of all it's much newer. It has way better screen,... more¿How can you say that the screen in the Xperia S is better?... just for the dpi?... have you compared both phones side to side... no contest, hands down GSII is the winner...
My uncle @ Sony Corp. Tokyo confirms the price should b around 34,000 INR,& likely 2 b available from the 1st week of April 2012 in India & rest of Asia.

Guys and gals,i just wanted to leave a comment because the web is filled with crap biased reviews of this phone.theverge gave this just 7 because the writer who wrote that review is a serious samsung fanboy that just cant face the briliance of this amazing phone.guys who write these kind of reviews are just stupid.i just wanted to tell you all that just dont come to a conclution judging by one idiots thoughts.you all have a brain so use it.
The Xperia S should be compared to Htc One XL not to the S2. S2 vs New Xperia S, you shouldn't have second thoughts... I'll be buyin this when it becomes available soon.
To all who are just in two minds as to go with this phone, this is the best phone i have ever used.people say it has outdated hardware.but i dont care.who needs quad cores and latest snapdragons if the phone does your work seamlessly.i have no complaints about this amazing phone.BEST PHONE EVER.

Alex, 05 Mar 2012Trust me, the Xperia S is way better. First of all it's much newer. It has way better screen,... moreThis seems like pretty biased advice. Firstly the screen is different not better. High PPI defnitely helps, but arguably many would give up PPI for the crisp and bright colours of AMOLED. Also the phone is not out, so no one can comment on practical battery life. Being newer doesn't mean much in phone world, its all about the hardware as there are almost no software differences between android devices. The only thing SGS2 lacks from this is processing power (1.3 vs 1.5gpz), which will be addressed with the SGSII plus update. SGSII will also be alot cheaper when this comes out and still get the ICS update. Of course the camera falls slightly short on the SGSII, but I would argue that 8MP is plenty for a smartphone.
