why is there no sd slot? seriously like, great phone but lack of sd card brings it down.
Just Top Mobiles, 29 Feb 2012Sexy & I Think its perfect mobile from sony, pure view 4.3 inches (~342 ppi pixel densit... moredude i think when galaxy S III will be released as well as the iphone 5 sony will be releasing new line up phones which would be greater to compare with like the rumored SONY HAYABUSA (july).. or even SONY MINT I (sept.) ..which would be i guess the 2012 flagship of SONY..(the given mobile names are still rumored code names which are usually change during the official release). :)))
spec obsessed people.they never learn.i think dual core is the best for a smartphone.why the hell these people want quad cores and mammoth sized screens.get real people.dont get obsessed with manufacturers marketing.just pick a phone that suits you.!! SONY ROCKS!!!!
Dart2012, 27 Feb 2012any idea how much this phone will cost in asia?In India 31000
i saw the SGS 3 rumored specs.. and i guess having 2cores would be the ideal cores for handsets.. since its portable.. for me its insane to have quadcores for cellphones.. because even laptops which has 4cores cannot maintain a good battery.. its proven that the more cores the higher of battery consumption.. which makes the cellphone useless.. so i guess i'll still go for this SONY XPERIA S.. i'll also wait for iPhone 5 specs.. :)
i Like this cell and i want to buy this one but i am in Pakistan from where i get that cell ???
xperia s is a fantastic phone. 12mp camera, bravia engine, 32gb internal memory is amazing...
Just Top Mobiles, 29 Feb 2012Sexy & I Think its perfect mobile from sony, pure view 4.3 inches (~342 ppi pixel densit... moreYou cannot compare Xperia S to Galaxy S3 because Galaxy S3 is a quad-core while Sony Xperia S is only a dual-core. I think it is best to compare Xperia S to Galaxy S2 since both are equipped with a dual-core processor.
Sexy & I Think its perfect mobile from sony,
pure view 4.3 inches (~342 ppi pixel density)
Waiting 4 New Samsung Galaxy S3 to Compare with it.
would have been perfect if used the S4 Krait/tegra 3, LTE support, OLED(like vita but retain the 720p screen), gorilla glass 2/dragontrail(ala xperia active) and comes with 4.0 ICS preloaded. and maybe waterproof
The white paper is wrong
The app memory space available for the XS is 2GiB (1.86GB formatted)
Media storage is 25.80GB, and the remaining 4GB is used up by the OS
There is no memory card slot, eMMC - embedded MultiMediaCard
Guys please check http://www.sonymobile.com/cws/corporate/products/phoneportfolio/specification/xperia-s
It says that internal phone storage is 1-1.5GB and flash memory (AFAIK external) 32 GB eMMC. so this phone has an external card slot!
gsmarena divides the xperia s into lt26i and lt26a the difference is in the 3g bands. However in the white paper of the xperia s the only version that appears is the lt26i and it says that all the 3g bands will be on this model.
is this an error of gsmarena? i need to know soon because im planing to import the xperia s but i want to be able to have 3g in mexico (850 3g) can any body clarify this for me?
here is the link for the white paper of the xperia s http://dl-www.sonymobile.com/cws/download/1/105/035/2/1327908899/Xperia_S_WP_2.pdf
Rich13, 27 Feb 2012Ok Ok Ok...
Xperia S Has Normal Body
Xperia P Has An "ALUMINIUM BODY"???
Xper... moreThe screen on the P is basically a lower resolution and PPI than the S. The "white magic" adds a 4th white color pigment to the RGB wheel to increase brightness and create more contract. Not something the S will need.
The Transparent bar on all 3 of the phones indeed changes colors and lights up for notifications. You can see videos on youtube of people that got retail models earlyish and the bar lights up just like on the U model.
Think of the S are their father. The P is the oldest son, with a worse screen and slower processor. The U is the youngest and has shitty everything all around. So to make the U enticing for people they highlight "fun features" like the bar glowing colors.
Anonymous, 26 Feb 2012Why bloody msm8260 why not 8660 The 8260 and 8660 are virtually identical. The actual chip is a MSM8X60 (2 denotes that it's for GSM phones and 6 is CDMA i.e. At&t would get a 8260 and Verizon a 8660)
This phone price is so high i should by Samsung s2
,dam phone price wise........s2 best phone
huys for God sake...can anyone tell y r u gonna need w quadcore chip in a phone...are u working with Auto CAD on ur phone?!! it;s too much for a phone. even dualcore is more than enough to keep ur phone lightning fast for calling..video chating..wutever the app u r using..capturing photos..gaming all this & u r using half of the dual co dual core 1.5GHz 1GRAM can give. but something like Quadcore 2GRAM phone wut r u gonna use it for?? isn't that too much for a phone??
I'll choose Xperia S cuz of the 12 MP rather than the 8 & 5 MP of Xperia P & U. i'll choose Xperia S cuz of the 4.3 inches screen rather than 4 & 3.5 of the P & U. i'll choose Xperia S cuz of the 1.5GHz processor rather than the 1GHz of P & U. finally i'll for sure choose the Xperia S cuz of the 32 GB intern rather than the 16 & 8 GB of the P & U. plus the front cam of Xperia S is of 720p quality much better than a VGA!! So far & for Sure Xperia S still the best.
