Zephyron, 22 Feb 2012An interesting note about the Xperia S' notification light when your battery goes below 20%
-... moreAnd before I forget, the battery percentage remaining there was 4%
As you guys can probably see, I had my screen on about half the time in the whole timespan
Brightness for the screen was set to 75%
All in all, the battery life, though not the best, isn't too bad for a machine with that kinda screen
Also, pardon the unboxing vid... First video about unboxing of anything in my life ever, wasn't prepared XP
An interesting note about the Xperia S' notification light when your battery goes below 20%
- It pulsates red once below 20%, slowly
- Pace for the pulsating light gets faster below 10%
- Pace increases once again below 5%
Anyways, this is the lifespan of my Xperia S' battery, with about an hour and a half on video, 6 minutes on the phones, occasional Facebook and Twitter checks and updates, and use of both the camcorder and camera
Also, here's my unboxing of the Xperia S
Depending on the region, users may or may not get the HDMI cable
I for one didn't get one, but the final retail version in the market of the country I am in will carry it
Anyways, without further ado:
Awesome at last i am moving Nokia to Sony...when it is coming in india
Zephyron, thanks for the photo pics, they do look very good, can you please post some more with flash & some day photos, many thanks.
Maybe even a video on youtube? Cheers. So looking forward to this in the UK

Will be placing my unboxing videos, boot up speed VS RAZR and SGS2, and physical comparison between the RAZR and the XS up to YouTube in a few hours.
I can't get back to you guys on the battery life test yet, this one might take a bit, wanna condition the battery first, if it's necessary at all.
To summarize though, I was bringing the phone to work, and in about an hour divided between surfing the web + listening to music, and a few 1080p video clips thrown inbetween with the screen brightness set to 75%, and video channeling between 1080p and Youtube, streaming HDMI, the battery dropped from 100% to ~80%
If you use the phone normally, and not as wildly as I did, it should last a day easy, but gotta test it out myself first.
In the mean time, have a few night shots, a macro and an indoor shot I took with the phone (Not sure how much Imageshack can deal w/o resize)
Night shot 1 - http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/687/image00002gs.jpg/
Night shot 2 - http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/842/image00004zv.jpg/
Indoor shot - http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/189/image00011z.jpg/
Macro indoor shot - http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/600/image00012iz.jpg/
Per photo shot in 12MP mode can result in file sizes up to 4MB+ depending on scene complexity, which translates to image compression being nowhere as severe as that of the 2011 family
For those into a teeny bit of cellphone photography, Sony has also added full on ISO controls on the phone, from Auto, ISO100, ISO200, ISO400 and ISO800
oh so it really is true, my worries is what if it hangs all of a sudden.... how will you restart the phone?. Well anyways we are all eyes for your battery life post
-Tom-, 22 Feb 2012Hey Zephyron where did you get yours? and can you please give some updates about the battery l... moreNo way not to void the warranty taking the battery out unfortunately
As to where I got mine... Lets just say that I've got connections
Field testing the battery life, get back to you guys soon
Hey Zephyron where did you get yours? and can you please give some updates about the battery life? and how do you find the battery set up, can it really not be removed by the user without voiding any warrant or something?

By draining the battery fully and charging it while the phone is off, is the best way t... moreAbout battery, as far as Lithium Ion batteries go, they perform the best if they are kept at 20% to 80% charge at all times, so it is best if you charge them continuosly w/o overcharging or letting the battery level drop from below 20%
