Really superb design and amazing features. But guys remember one thing that this. is a 1.5ghz dual core phone.so obviously the battery will drain fast. The phone is packing with a non removable battery.this means if battery damaged then you will have to throw this phone in garbage!!!!:-) Also no memory card slot very ridiculous. Also remember one thing that if while using the phone if any phone does not respond means hang.there is a simple solution to reset it is to remove battery and insert it again. What you can do for this phone if this thing happen.Sony has not given any solution for this.?I was highly impressed by this phone...but then reading full review about this phone....was shocked!!!!and totally nervous about battery(which is only 1750mAH for 1.5ghz!!!!):-! And no card slot.:-D
Snowing, 16 Feb 2012The square design looks just like iPhone 4... No new case designs there...>>"Rectangular Phone with large area of display... Can you think of any other way of making a phone that looks different with these 2 quality? Unless you make it triangle or rounded in order to NOT look like an iphone
Awesome design & specifications especially 12Mp 3D sweep Panorama, 342 ppi resolution....... Sony will beat Samsung and htc.
I like Sony products very much..
I wouldn't either, but then again we have not tested the unit or in a position to say that this will be a big fail. Based on experience sony ericson phones have a pretty decent battery lifespan. But i am as eager to hear what the designers have to say about this issue.

About the battery I think both them has a point, bringing with you a battery pack or going to a technician. IMO the after sales is most important, Extended warranty for this kind of phone. Accessibility to service centers free check ups etc. Although my my previous sony ericson phones took me about 2.5 years before i need to replace the battery with a new one. How you use your phone also matters if you are into games then buy xplay. Games exhausts your batter like hell. Camera moderate so as browsing.
1st unboxing video nice box :)
It doesn't have card slot???????
I can believe tha Sony make the same stupid mistake as Apple has!
best ssmartphone yet by sony or any other company...
but the price matters
Don't forget to come up with 4G phones ASAP. The competition is selling them already.
i have xperia play now , but this phone Xperia S is great , i think the best one among the android phones , and the highest features , maybe i should change to Xperia S
i'm looking you on "xperia s" come come come fastttttttttttttttttttttttttt
Anonymous, 17 Feb 2012Real Dumb case, the battery can still be replace like iphone, just that you need to have the b... moreWrong! By draining the battery fully and charging it while the phone is off, is the best way to ensure to maximize some 500 life charging cycles of each battery. The charging of the battery, ie current going into the battery produces some by-product chemical that accumulates over every charging that lessens the battery's capacity to hold on stirred power. So therefore, the less number of times you charge, the more longer the battery unit your battery will retain power.
I happen to cycle 3 batteries, switching from one to the other after fully draining. I charge the the drained battery with a desktop charger. This means I have my phone virtually unplugged most of the time instead of being stuck waiting for it to fully charge.
I see people with fixed battery phones having to buy those power phone jackets thickening their units. Those will actually shorten the internal battery as toy are virtually plugged in, ie, current constantly going in to the internal battery.
Having a removable battery makes more sense. And carrying an extra battery it's not such a big hassle. Just look at this Sony phone model specs, it's less than half the battery stamina of other premium phones. And they designed it with a fixed battery? And you would bother going to the technicians to replace it once it does not charge anymore? What's dumb now?
