I was also having issues with the battery life but I have found a solution. I downloaded Go Power Master and enabled stamina mode and I have noticed I get more out of a single charge. Usually when I take my phone off the charger it would drop from 100 to 95 in like 3 minutes of browsing on instagram with wifi. Today it took the phone about 10-12 minutes to drop from 62 to 57 using wifi, auto brightness, browsing facebook, instagram and posting this comment. Feel free to try this and let me know if it helped.
blitzarc, 20 Jan 2014wait within this or next week, 4.3 update will coming soon. if the update still doesnt change ... moreI think an update can only fix ur problem. Cuz I c only 16% of ur battery is consumed by the display so that means ur usage is very low. Cuz in my case screen takes ~45% and only 11% is taken by android system. U should manually disable some core apps like maps, gmail, Google+, facebook, account sync which always run behind the scene and drain battery. And it's certain that ur battery is fine but because of software malfunction it's draining fast.
blitzarc, 20 Jan 2014wait within this or next week, 4.3 update will coming soon. if the update still doesnt change ... morechoose the low default backlight option i.e Just click the backlight option showing at the top of your homescreen and use stamina mode that's it
Camera max resolution is 7.22 MP (3104 x 2328), not 8 MP (3264 x 2448) as posted above! The camera settings screen even says "7M" as the maximum.
blitzarc, 20 Jan 2014wait within this or next week, 4.3 update will coming soon. if the update still doesnt change ... moreHey guys, I just want to share this. I also had this problem (high battery usage from android services) when I bought my Xperia SP last week. I didn't experience the phone drained its battery overnight but I had like 16% of the battery usage consumed by Android Services and 48 was used on my screen. I just did a factory reset on my phone and noticed that Android Services went lower to 3-5% from time to time.
I didn't get the fast battery drain overnight, but a friend of mine bought an Xperia L and he asked me what is happening to his phone, why is the battery getting drained that fast at night. I also noticed that his phone was recieving updates from sony, not android version update, and required him to connect to a PC. I updated his phone and his problem went away. The only thing i have noticed with my Xperia SP is that, there has never been any update available ever since it was with me (been with me for 9 days already) and all I can say is it is worth the money I have paid for.
