Anonymous, 17 Jan 2014a pixel density of around 250 on a six inch screen could be the main lagging point in this pho... moreThis is why a lot of people are perplexed as to why it has a very high price in relation to it's specs. A mid-ranger with a $550 tag price- kinda hard to justify.
a pixel density of around 250 on a six inch screen could be the main lagging point in this phone.when all other specs become favourable this factor gives this phone a blowback.if the PPi would have been something around 350-400 this would have been a megahit..i suppose

It's just that Sony haven't been releasing their products ahead of the competition for a long time. They weren't like this back in the 90's and early 2000's.
Anonymous, 16 Jan 2014Got to be crazy asking for 400 euro, Samsung Mega 6.3 LTE merely selling 300 euro in my countr... morehahaha Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 the cheap looking phone which come with 1.7Ghz dual core and TFT display.
its a decent price i'm glad sony got back into the midrange business again because reality is you buy a high end phone $500 to $600 in 3 years its worth $15 to exchange it if its a midrange its 1 year older technology so in 2 years at $250-$300 it will be worth $15 plus you see the chinese are making their own version of smartphones almost midrange speed only everything else is crap ie camera/screen/networking/connection etc.. for 1/4th the price so i rather pay half the price and get only half the processor speed on antutu test and resolution screen still hd quality instead of full if those are the only two features that drive the double cost of high end smartphones even the dual sim feature is something useful only chinese makers put in their smartphones which doesn't cost a lot.
if sony wants to rock with this phone in india then pricing should be done wisely should not exceed 20k to 25k range in indian Rupees..
Boks, 15 Jan 2014Price is too high...! i'll go for if it is 1920x1080 IPS LCD and Snapdragon 800.Keep Dreaming, Daydreamer! There's no mid-ranger smartphones come with 1080X1920 and Snapdragon 800 processor!

Since it has a dual sim version i believe this model is not primarily made for western markets and UK may not be high priority.
"Carphone Warehouse has since revealed that the smartphone will be hitting UK shelves in April."
And Sony has to be late again with their releases. This is one of the reasons why Sony is having a hard time catching up with other brands. Announce a product to compete with other brands- release it later.
Normally, Sony Smartphone always start with around 600$-700$ at the first price in sale.

win, 15 Jan 2014does it still have the ability to use any pen or pencil on its screen??? Hope not, Z Ultra has problems because of the added sensitivity that enables use of pen, its so sensitive that a dirty display will make random presses on its own.
