How is it good for you if people from Philippines will buy Tipo after reading your opinion? What about my Tipo, bought in philippines and having the same problem as you say its only problem in India?
I think you have no experience with touch and android, you dont know what to expect, i am sure your Tipo has the same problem.

those hu r complaining about the screen are mostly from india. I'm from phil. And i never ncountered as bad as metioned below, the touch did well, the only thing i don't like is when your taking picture in low light the nightmode is useless. my tipo was so poor as i compared to my nokia c2-03 2mp in low light.

Bought mine in Philippines also, Xperia Store in SM. The speed of the launcher is not a problem, it responds eventually, but not always.
HOwever guys, my general experience on the touch problem shows that it is a software glitch. When for example selecting an alternate word from dictionary while texting, the word gets highlighted, but not selected. It would not be highlighted (background color changes momentarily) if the touch was not registered.
I now believe its some kind of glitch in the UI software that in someway ignores the last part of the touch cyclus, the part where it registers the lifting of your finger. Those of you who have experience with computer programming know about this cycle, a mouse click on the PC is not complete before the last part is done, that is the point where you release the mouse button again, lets call it the OnMouseUp event, and OnFingerUp event for touchscreen. Tipo seems to get lost between OnFingerDown and OnFingerUp, possibly because it registers an OnFingerMove event between the two other events. (that means it registers a slide of the finger even when you dont slide it?
If i am correct in my guess then maybe Sony can fix this simply by increasing the threshold for whats a tap and wats a slide, but its more likely that its a bug they need to find, which can be much harder to do. With bugs developers often do not know where to start, running code step by step is sometimes the only last solution, lots of manual work. In worst case its a hardware problem where for example the touch sensor is passing false data to the software.

subin, 30 Sep 2012which one will be better to buy .., SONY xperia TIPO or HTC explorer..?? cant v upgrade HTC ... morehello subin,i recommend you to go with the xperia tipo rather than the htc explorer. both are very similiar in config and performance but tipo has the upper hand as it has ics,better internal memory than the explorer which has just 90 mb of internal memory and the explorer's os can't be upgraded to ics as htc has ruled out ics updates for their phone which have processor less than 800mhz.

I'm using xperia tipo for 26 day. Its great, in fact I never went to the service center because my unit is perfectly well. The touch is great and it works 99% responsive in everything than I do(most of the time surfing and gaming) for the entire day. The remaining 1% down is sometimes on the entire day I double click the apps in the menu before it launches( only happens 2-4 times the entire day) Although in browsing ang gaming the touch is 100% good. I tried nova launcher ang theirs no problem at all. I think theirs a minor problem in the Xperia tipo launcher.

All in all the touch of my phone is good very responsive. I bought here in the philippines. Also I tried using nova launcher (pure ics launcher) and its mush faster than the xperia tipo launcher.
