there is no problem with the SAR value. Ask yourself. Why would a big company like Sony cheat anyone. There was a confusion regarding the values as I have read previously, but the discussion was for good and cleared everything. Now it is absolutely clear that the phone is safe and you should buy it without any fear. This is the best phone in the sub 10k range in India, so feel free to go to a store and buy it.

about the sar value
well, i havent bought the phone. but am planning to after seeing one of my friends'. its a charm if its your first android. regarding the sar value, the value of 1.62 is averaged over 10g and the higher limit for that is 2 w/kg (as per european union rules) you may check out wikipedia. sony should have clarified this issue to prevent many customers drawing back to what is potentially a killer at the sub 10k android market. i am posting the link to the sony site which confirms the sar value and the averaged over 10g feature.

1st of all i was sayin tipo doesnt has high SAR value..2ndly even i think that it doesnt cause cancer....!! please read carefully before you post..!!

Rish u n bharatbhai u took me wrongly guys..!! i w... moreY dont u discuss those nonsense values on Bombay forums, since India is the only country where scientists has found "conclusive proof" for cancer from cellfone usage.
I mean, almost the whole world has been using cellphones for years and years now, i had my first handheld cellphone 19 years ago, why are we not als dead long ago, where are all these cancer victims???
ONE is not much but the radiation scientists cannot show us even ONE victim.
If i lived in India i would be upset that my hard earned tax money was spent on this stupid research.

[deleted post]By the way, if you can buy one, please post some reviews. Especially about its performance and touch screen. I wan't a super sensitive touch screen. Just like my good old Samsung Wave 525 (around 5k when I bought it). Also about it's browser. Whether it can view videos online aside from youtube.

guys dont worry about SAR value of tipo atleast in India...
our government officials have themselves tested the little tipo and approved it to be launched in India... here is a part of their report
