hey guys I'm not against Sony. I love the company and it's products. I'm interested in this phone that's why I'm commenting here. What I personally feel is that the initial stock was imported to India before the implementation of the law, so those models have higher SAR value since the previous limit was 2. The new stock which will be imported will have less SAR value as they have done with the US stock. The Indian authorities may be lazy, but Sony is not, so it will follow all the rules so that it does not get into trouble later when the authorities finally wake up. Sony is a big multinational company, so I don't expect it to break the rules after their implementation. I don't want to lead anyone away from this phone guys.

ICS has been found to be laggy even on high end handsets ... moredude..dont ever refer LG L5 to any1 if u dont want to b cursed later..! it lags as hell.!!i have used both tipo n L5 personally..!tipo runs ICS smoothly..yeah there r lil hiccups here n there but smoother than L5 for sure...why? there is something called as optimisation..which means make software usable according to ur fone hardware..!! n sony has mastered in it..!!n abot JB update..!! there are chances of TIPO gettuing it..!even L5 can get it looking at its hardware..but wont get ever..! LG is d most laziest company never provides update..!!!
look at following links n sply observe how L5's browser performs..!!

bharat, 17 Sep 2012the new Indian telecom laws state that any handset having SAR value more than 1.6 W/Kg cannot ... morei just want to add something to my previous post..!!
in us limit is 1.6w/kg n in euro zone its 2.0w/kg..!!
now what does dat mean?? american autority cares more for ther people n European cares less? certainly not..!!

there is a diffrent standards of conducting tests in various zones/countries or regions(different ways) whichever they think is right..!! thats y u will c different figures for EU SAR values n US SAR values..isnt it? even on GSMarena dey give u two figures..!! actually both d figures r same..!! by same i mean d end effect or radiation is same..!! n both d values r proportional with respect to testing method..!!

so dont get confused..!! high SAR value certainly has bad efefct on human body..but the HIGH value is region specific according to regions..!!

dont recommend xperia u to anyone. It too has a sar value of 1.62 w/kg . And i dont think govt will take any action you know how lazy they are . And xperia u , p , s all have 1.62 w./kg SAR value , they have been here for quite some time now and no action of any sort has been taken. though it says 1st sept 2012 but practically they wont act before 1st sept 2013

              http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/st21/sar_ST21_1.pdf

              it states dat-
The highest SAR value as reported to the authorities for this
phone model when tested for use by the ear is 1.28 W/kg*,
and when worn on the body is 0.74 W/kg* for speech and
              1.37 W/kg* for data calls
(jump to page no2 of sub-document or if u r using cntl+F jump to 81st element)

i hope i hav cleared doubt rather fear in ur mind..!! overall its 0.74w/kg which is really normal..!!
              s dont limit urself..go n get TIPO if u really like d phone..thank u..!!

the new Indian telecom laws state that any handset having SAR value more than 1.6 W/Kg cannot be imported or made in India after 1st sept 2012. The existing handsets with high SAR value will continue to exist in the market till august 2013. friends I should tell you one thing. ICS has been found to be laggy even on high end handsets and tablets. To overcome this lag, Jelly Bean has been made under 'Project Butter' to achieve smoothness, so don't hurry. The problem with android is that unless you buy a high end handset, you can never be sure that your handset is getting the next update or not which is why many people are looking forward to change to windows phone 8 when it comes. This problem is also not found on iOS that's why it is so popular. The 3 year old iphone 3gs is also getting the new iOS 6 update which is provided with iphone 5.

[deleted post]hey I almost forgot. there is the LG optimus L5 and the sony ericsson live with walkman in this range which are nice phones but the lww lags with ICS and the L5 has ICS preloaded, so it will be smooth.

[deleted post]dude all the phones in the 12000 INR range are old and the only new one is the desire c which is practically a joke, so I suggest you to wait a bit more and let some new handsets come to the market. If you can increase your budget then go for the Xperia U. Don't think about Galaxy Ace duos. It has an old armv6 processor same as the galaxy y even in 2012, so applications will be limited. And yes, the tipo has high SAR value which can affect your health in the negative way.

I won't buy any samsung handset, so it just comes down to the explorer and the tipo. Yesterday I read an article which said that the SAR value limit in India is 1.6, so I think that the tipo will be taken action on in the coming days, especially because many people are concerned about the SAR value in tipo, so I'll just wait and see how the market develops till dhanteras. One thing is for sure that I'm not buying samsung ever in my life.

@bharat samsung has launched galaxy chat B5330 , what does this means ?
that the galaxy y 2 will have a 850 mhz Broadcom BCM21654 chip with power video iv gpu . this cpu from broadcomm is cortex a9 . whereas the msm7225a is cortex a5 but due to its advancement it performs as cortex a 8.5. galaxy y 2 will have this cpu and gpu with ics 4.0 . this cpu will be a little bit faster than msm7225a but it wont have that much of support for games and apps unless you root it as drivers are scarce for this cpu. look what happened to galaxy y 1 , it had processor from broadcomm . so until and unless you can wait for 6 months more we have 3 options in our price range .
                                1) xperia tipo ( high SAR value )
                                2) galaxy y 2 ( lack of support for games and development unless root)
                                3) htc explorer ( the cpu is 600 mhz which works very smoothly on gb , ics is fully functional overclockable upto 1.3 ghz same chipset as tipo , snapdragon s1 maximum support , jb is being developed )

i have decided to go with explorer now because it is an extremely well built , snappy performance on gb , screen clarity and responsiveness better than tipo , awesome music quality in earphones .
the only con is 1230 mah battery and less internal memory , but all apps can be moved to sd card ,

do tell me what you decide , i was waiting for galaxy y but i wont go with it now.
