taking reviews from others not acceptable
I am using mobile and don't have any issue regarding dual standbye.
Both sim works- one put default for calls, mesgs while from other I can recieve calls and messsages.
which kind of dual active you want?
i m using this smartphone since a month. its a good phn. battery life nearly 2 days on moderate to heavy use. 3g and wifi connectivity good. screen response very good. smooth app running. (didnt install hd apps till date). temple run xtremely smooth. ics out of the box and the handy size packed with compatible hardware is all tht can b bought at this price.
cons...
camera quality sub standard
I've been using the phone for one month now. As everyone else has said, for this budget one cant ask for more. Though Sony doesn't do justice with its ads. It markets it as a music oriented smartphn, but it just fails to deliver the desired audio output. Previously I was using a low budget walkman phone from sony which sounded far superior. Though I corrected this problem by downloading a plug in for android devices called 'MusicFX'. It seems Sony forgot to put this update before releasing it, despite givng it an ICS platform. Now the sound is fine, though not at par with walkman. And I'm in no mood to shell out another 1000 bucks on a decent earphone.
Next, with its low end CPU, GPU and RAM, you cant keep many apps on it. I wanted to keep a beautiful water ripple effect for my wallpapers, but had to remove it as it made it slow like anything. Also, even with the bare necessities of social netwrk apps and a few games, the phone seems to act a bit laggish. I guess, I'll have to uninstall some preloaded apps to make it fine. So.. you cant keep your phone loaded like a superphn..
The most important part- To make a call, you have to be a lot patient. First, the touch wont respond if you are not being very precise and careful (unlike other androids I've used which work no matter how carelessly you touch). Sometimes, the recent calls list wont appear for a while and/or even after you've touched to call, it'll take a while to start calling.
And trust me, I've been very judicious and modest in picking up and installing apps. Sometimes I feel there really is a bit of touch responsiveness issue with this phone, though when I put it for an intense touch tests step by step as indicated by Xperia's official website, my touch resulted 100% working and efficient.
I've used its 2g, 3g, wifi, bt.. eveythng works great.
The phone isn't very ergonomic given its size. You cant chat for long. And yes, it's high SAR value gets in your head (dont know if it actually does any harm!).
So my rating would be 3 and a half star.
Did I mention that owning an Xperia also has an innate feel good effect unlike the usual Samsung and cheap micromax or even htc for that matter? After my love with its walkman phones, I identify myself with Sony, so had it been even less efficient and feature packed, I'd have gone for it.
I forgot to mention, the cam isn't good. Many 2mp cams of other phones give better clarity and colors than this 3.15 one. It's actaully worse, the pics despite being ugly take more storage space..
I wanted to buy Xperia Miro, but its reviews were too bad. In a year, I'll move on to a better one, maybe other brands too. Honestly, I dont think I can use it for long despite my budgetary constraints.
The phone just feels good, not very utilitarian actually. I tried opening an email with some pics, the browser and even Opera refused to show the pics. While my sister's android of the same budget (released a year ago! wont disclose the name!!) opened it smoothly. And I cant blame my network as she opened it via my own network through wifi. Hers was slightly better on Ram and graphics. ANd this is how I knew what a slight difference can do to your phone's performance.
About the looks.. It's not as beautiful as other xperias, but still better than other phones of same budget. The back cover has a rubbery finish which feels good to hold. They could've done away with some added bulk and size if they wanted though..

I love the phone.. TBH it looks better in real life than on the picture.. But I hate to say this.. Is it just me or I was just freakin out, I feel a rather dizzy after using the phone.. And then I check the SAR on the spec it says 1.62.. That's pretty high for SAR level.. Then again I hope it's just me.. Anyone?
azzuri, 30 Nov 2012does it show two sim's network at the same time? is it dual standby? plz somebody answer.Yes, it support dual sim standby. You can receive call or SMS at any time.. But if you make a call on SIM 1, SIM 2 can not receive incoming call and does not receive any missed call notification when you're done calling on SIM 1.. Hope you get the idea..
