On my old T610 Sony Ericsson phone I was able to store my private info like PIN numbers and protect it with a pass code , I am trying to do the same on the Xperia U phone but I am not getting anywhere. Does anybody out there know how to do it or know any app that I can download so I can protect the info and access when the need arises?
I have a problem with this phone, it's about its gps. It doesn't show my actual location, instead it shows the location of my neighbouring state of my country. Is this problem common? How can I fix it? Besides this problem, this phone is great, has a really smooth touch screen and very responsive. Although mind that this phone cannot handle overheating well, it tends to hang and you need to reboot your phone later. I would not recommend this phone for a heavy user, either in internet or even gaming because this phone is just not gonna be your type.
there are some common objection against xperia u. let me refute these-
1. light ambience effect is not for all.
= u can use black scotch tape to hide it. believe me none can understand your tweaking.
2. battery backup.
=this is the common objection against all smartphone. U is much better than other
3. limited memory.
=hmm this objection can't be refuted. but u can use OTG cable, cloud service like dropbox, sync with pc once a week.
if u watch a lot of music video or movie on smartphone don't buy it.
however u don't need your all belongings in pocket.
besides these threes issues xperia u is the best smartphone of its species
i record a vidio in this phone ..
video timing 2min 23sec & memory used 125 mb
how to reduce this vidio memory..
Should I get this or the Sony Xperia U dual (I don't need the dual sim card option)?
wreck, 10 Apr 2013I tried plugging my 80gb external hard drive with additional powe cable into Xperia u using us... moreActually not all flash drives are supported because some of them consume way more power and so the phone disabled them by default...try some knw power consuming devices...the ones which have numerous flashy lights here and there usually consume more power...
It is the best phn i have evr used.awsum music qlty, photo qualty is grt during day time. The most attractv featr in this phn is the batry backup. I havnt found such a grt batry back up in any of android smrt phn except xperia u. So without any hesitatn u can go and buy this phone and u will be highly satisfied.

its ridiculous but we have to bear it.
the good thing is its fast, got fwvga diaplay with good ppi. USB otg and hd support.
if u feel unhappy, you can always sell it and buy another phone.
sola seems good, if you dont mind windows, go for lumia 520
ASH008, 10 Apr 2013the thing is that you can always use flash drives of even 64 gb to watch all your hd movies on... moreI tried plugging my 80gb external hard drive with additional powe cable into Xperia u using usb otg.
the "new accessory" pops up and I can mount or erase the USB..
but it wont mount....
