KeithYes you can update using both PC companion or OTA but OTA isn't accurate and the best option is to use PC companion instead. Hope you can update.. :)
I've been waiting for the update of this phone up until now but seems like the 4.3 update of the Xperia V made its camera bad [BIG TIME], specially when you're taking pictures in low light. Unlike from 4.1.2 which has better results, proactively advice you to update. If taking pictures isn't your thing the feel free to update since 4.3 update is really good, except for the bugs. You can check the camera bug videos from "xperiablog.net" or "youtube.com".
Updates are optional but I guess I'll just stick with 4.1.2 version... XD

I am going to show you my review of 1800 Mugen Battery for xperia V comparing it with the 1700 stock battery (Sony). My phone is uderclocked to work between 0-702 mhz with NO-Frills CPU. Both batteries work great 9 moths after buying them. You have to take into account that the results are not very exact becouse the smartphone doesnt let me control the accurate drain. System: 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
VIDEO PLAYER
Stock battery. Conditions: stock player, brigtness 12,6%, airplain on,bravia2 off, main loudspeaker. Results= 55 minutes with 13% of drain. Other result with mxplayer and 8% brightness= 60 minutes with 15% drain
Mugen. Conditions : mxplayer, brigtness 12,6%, airplain on,bravia2 off. Results= 56 minutes with 18% of drain.
Other tests said 44 minutes with 12%of drain and 90 minutes with 39% of drain
Conlusion: the drain is similar. Yoy can play videos during 5,45-6,5 hours. I think the stock battery is slihgty better than mugen battery.
STREAMING
Stock: 21 minutes with 18% drain
Mugen 19 miutes with 14% drain

Mugen: 40 minutes 17%

It seems Mugen is better but i am not very sure of this result, the lack of accurance doent let me know the exact %

Stock: no registered i think very similar

Stock: As far as i know Sony doesnt sell spare batteries
Mugen: 35 euros (transport included)
AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS I CAN SAY THAT MUGEN BATTERY IS ALMOST AS GOOD AS SONY STOCK BATTERY. They say that Mugen has 1.800 mah but i think has less than 1700 actually. However the quality of mugen is very very good and i recomend to buy one and wear it in your wallet for just in case you need it.
Xperia V can achieve the following:
-6,5 h of videoplater
-14 hours of calls (i think you actually can get much more )
-120 minutes of streaming, maybe a little more
-5,5 hours of internet
-5,5 hours of wasap (maybe more).

Still waiting for my update to come, for my xperia V.. Im from philippines.. And also im having problem about the camera flash it's too bright i can't see my face or the picture i took with led flash on.. Can this update fix this problem or it is a hardware problem? Please reply if any of you experience same problem with me..
