Just remove all bloatware from device and you get decent battery life. Go to xda-developers and see list of removeable bloat. Same bloatware is installed almost every sony phone. Just started using my Xperia X again and not bad phone for seven years old. Decent battery life. good camera and enough power for everyday use and small to fit in pocket.
everybody point and laugh at this thing (horrendous battery life and bluetooth gets disrupted if the phone is in your pocket)
This was best phone in my life. Only minus was fast batery drain, especially latter as it gets older.
2022_12_19. Bought this phone used in 2017 because of the sailfish OS. After while using sailfish OS I decided to go back on android 7. Still using it. Have a chinese rough cover that has edges over the screen so you can put the phone down on screen and there is 1-2mm free space between the table and the screen - so I have dropped the phone countless of times and all is fine. Bought a new battery half a year ago and all is perfect again. Everything works so fine (no lag, no heat, battery is small but will last a whole day easily, all daily tasks in work and normal life are done.), that I do not know why I should buy a new phone and if I would then it would be Sony again with a lot of research before buying it. Would prefer that the new phones would be smaller. Size matters and my next candidate would be Xperia 10 IV, but maybe something smaller will come out. That is my eXperince with Xperia X. :D All the best!

I'm sorry but you're talking nonsense
Will never buy another Sony mobile phone, Xperia or any Sony. It is full of bloatware, takes forever to boot up as a result, crashes and freezes, loathe Sony, waste of time and money!!!!
this was my phone for around 4 years. happy with its sound, display and OS. bad camera and support from sony. other than that its good for me when I need a phone. able to get whole day use for simple task of navigating and social media. but the age catch up with it and now I need new phone. goodbye old friend.
Using this mobile for years now and heres what I think:
1) Is fair performance wise but lags very often.
2) Speakers kind of get worse over time and now I can barely hear sound.
3) Poor Wifi range.
4) Jackpot does not work properly.
Got the device in 2017. Still functioning well, but lost its battery capacity after 4 years of use.
Really nice device from Sony. Clean interface and elegantly simple design. Lots of battery optimising options and needless to say about the display, sound and camera. It's really sad sony left many markets including India.
My phone has stopped reading the OTG-USB stick. Could anybody provide tips in this regard? Thanks.
Working perfect now (aug 20212) . Had it since 2016.
I bought my Xperia X over two years ago used. Initially, most of its hardware was working fine. The only real issue was with the display, which has temporary image retention issues, which I found somewhat annoying, but I went with it. I was also annoyed at how its bootloader isn't unlockable. "Bootloader unlock allowed" in the service menu app reports "no". Therefore, I've been stuck with Sony's stock firmware with no modifications that had an already several months out of date security patch level by the time I got this phone. It does also get quite warm when running heavier tasks, but it was only ever warm to the touch.
Now, after the over 2 years that I've had this phone for, its vibration motor had one day stopped working suddenly, its rear camera doesn't work without me pressing very hard onto the area around the camera as the flex cable connecting the rear camera presumably doesn't make a good connection anymore (which is particularly strange), and its audio jack is no longer usable. This is the only phone I've had where some of the hardware has failed over time like that. It's not impressing. It's still usable for most things, but its usability has been decreased. I'm using other devices alongside my Xperia X, and will probably switch to using a different phone sometime soon as my main phone.
Speaking of the audio jack, the volume of the sound outputted from it was quite low at full volume, at least on the generic UK firmware and certainly also firmwares for other European regions. In fact, it's so low, that it seems like Sony got sued by someone who got severe hearing loss from Sony's products, or something, and now, they fear having another lawsuit, and don't want to set even a moderate volume on their devices (at least in European-region firmwares). I'm sure this low volume was set intentionally, and I'm certain that the hardware itself could handle higher volumes. The low volume was no good in an environment with even a moderate amount of noise.
This was my phone from 2017-2019 until it stopped working. I don’t know if it’s about battery issue but the last time that I was able to used it, it doesn’t charge eventhough I tries using different connector.

I've been using the Jolla Sailfish OS for two years. Now run on 184.108.40.206 . The phone does its job perfectly. Excellent device.
I have been using this phone since last four years. The downsides are when you play games for sometime the phone heats up and battery drain problem for me since last six months. When you surf the internet you will loose some battery percentage, you may have to charge twice a day for this phone (after you use for about two years).
Otherwise its an average phone (you get much better phone nowadays).
