the only issue with this handset is that for 50 uk pounds more you can get htc 10.

You're right about Samsung, their software is never too my liking so have never bought one. But somehow they optimise their software for good battery life. Even SONY have done a good job with their power saving modes but if they give some extra battery power in all their phones( that can't be too hard) they'll lead the others in battery life.
Never considered any LG phone ever except the Nexus 5. You're right about their build quality and battery pathetic but cameras tend to be good though. And sad to know SONY again let down on the camera deptt, despite the huge sensor.... Anyways all in all a great option for buyers! Thanks again.

FARAJBOSS, 19 Jun 2016have u seen an i phone Yes, iphones are simply craps compared to sony.
Hi. I am due an upgrade in July and currently have a Samsung s4 on EE (UK). Looking at coming away from Samsung and getting a Sony as I have had nothing but Samsung for years. My choices are either the standard Z5 or the Xperia X. Would anyone have any recommendations? I know this X seems to get slated a lot but I'm not one for gimmicks such as 4K etc. I basically use it for general use and nothing special. Both phones look great to me but was just wondering if I could get some input as I don't want to make the wrong decision and get tied into a 24m contract. Thanks : )

sony EX!, 22 Jun 2016Thanks JohnC for the detailed review! Congrats on your new phone!Nice to know that SONY have d... morehi.
In low light conditions the photos have a bit of noise and sometimes on isuperior setting too much post processing. I'd say is a very good camera but not a leader on the market.
It depends what's most important for you. If having the best camera is a must I couldn't recommend this phone. The again, when I look at the market these are my views:
-apparently Galaxy S7 has a good camera but Samsung has botched the software. This means your phone is sluggish and slow sometimes and yes slower than Xperia X with an inferior processor inside...
-Lg G5 would have a superior camera but I just don't trust LG. they are not consistent in quality and this one in particular has build quality issues(please look into it). Also, the form factor is different. It's considerably chunkier, wider and longer than Xperia X without offering much extra screen in return - not great.
I don't know any other phones having a superior camera from what I read in tons of reviews.
This phone is nowhere criticized for its Quality....
But It's criticized Everywhere for its Sky High Price.
Sony should look at the Market Practically...!
AnonD-259759, 23 Jun 2016It is too expensive, classic case of product planning failed.Get the E class .. E5 coming soon...
Why would sony make x performance if x already superb??? And less power consumption, it seems x much better than x performance.
John C, 18 Jun 2016I've just had the phone for a few days and here are my first, hands-on impressions. First of ... moreThanks JohnC for the detailed review! Congrats on your new phone!Nice to know that SONY have delivered this time. But I really want to know about the camera. You see what your saying is 100% correct. Many other companies use SONY sensors, there is no doubt they make the best sensors and lenses, the problem has always been camera software. Oversharpening, noise in low light, bad panoramas, dynamic range problems are always there. You cannot get around these as they are firmware problem. No camera app can resolve. On xperia phone itself, they somehow always appear good. But on a computer screen, that's another story. You can always compare in the gsmarena compare tool itself. But it would be great knowstraight from a user like you, but unbiased. SONY sound is almost always good.true, but batterylife I have always found doubtful.SONY screens are always very bright, but contrast is never too good. Then again updated are too slow and unsure! Good to know that you found most things great with this phone, maybe they have a winner here. Hope SONY's lucky this time... :-)
AnonD-551613, 21 Jun 2016Dude you sound soo disappointed! Is it that bad??!Hi there! Yeah i am really dissed :-( been a SONY fan since childhood... Their phones are not bad dear, not at all.... but, I expect SONY phones yo be so much more, every single feature or spec their phones turn out to be just about OK ,never excel in anything!I miss the SONY ericsson era, all phines were standout, even the cheapest ones...always interesting- Walkman,Cybershot etc. Now,its like they have a checklist-good but not great processor-check,average camera-check, good enough screen-check,average battery-check,design n looks- why bother to change? The fans are buying anyway...Noneed to be the best at anything!!! even the reviews say that their only innovation to include the fingerprint reader in the power button is quirky at best, imagine a leftie trying to use it! You can't really recommend SONY phones nothing stands out, apart from looks, which again are getting a bit dated....I pray for a miracle for SONY!!
FARAJBOSS, 19 Jun 2016have u seen an i phone I've seen many times. Lol. For me it is overpriced crap.
