I've used many Sony phones in the past and will continue to do so as they all have been loyal to me for years without troubling the service centers. Currently using the Xperia X and it's real value for money like my previous devices like Z2, Z3 and Z5.
Had for 1 year now third time to send for repair 1st screen and sim slot problems 2nd time screen again and now overheating and cameras not working
Last sony phone i will ever buy

Pics come out grainy indoors and in low light conditions, if you switch to manual mode and change EV to +0.7 then you get good light but not great shots also it takes a long time to process the pics so you've to wait to take another shot which is quite annoying.
Is the camera shutdown problem due to overheating solved after nougat update?? Plz answer me. Any Xperia X user.
Been with the phone for almost a week now and here's the summary of my experience. I hope this helps you make a informed decision before buying.
*UI close to stock android
*Decent battery life considering the battery size (Last more than 2hrs with Pokemon GO with Battery Stamina mode enabled for performance)
*Great speaker quality
*Latest Android (7.1.1 with July Security Patch currently)
*The colours of the camera images are great
*Lack of 2.0 supported fast charger in box
*Overheating at times to extent that the camera instantly closes before I can even take a picture, not even going to bother with recording (Google Camera works fine at these times but I worry about frying my internals) (Even with no background apps running)
*Screen's colours are over saturated so don't go online shopping on this phone
*Camera has difficulty focusing, at most times the edges of the photo looks extremely blurry
*Manual camera option are too basic (Open Camera works fine to help get more control over your shot)
*Camera's flash is horrible
*2nd Sim slot is a hybrid SD slot (So you need to decide between an additional Sim or SD card)
Apart from the overheating and camera issues I'm loving the phone so far. It's been more than a year since the phone was released so I doubt these software issues will get fixed by Sony.
The price has dropped to an acceptable amount now. Check the Xiaomi Mi5s (SD 821, Sony IMX378 camera sensor, 3200mah battery) if you're looking for a different flavoured alternative.
I have read that unlike its bigger brother (Z5) the Nougat 7.1.1 update seem to have come out with no issues. Would anyone agree/disagree to that? I have also been researching that the speakers are actually louder now and battery life drain is not so much with the X. And I also heard the new Predicitive Hybrid AutoFocus is working wonders for the X's camera. Comment please?

A month ago or so I went the Phone Battles and see the overheating test for all XPERIA smartphones. And surprisingly XPERIA XZs & XPERIA XZ PREMIUM recording time is a LOT better than previous ones. I think they removed the overheating message? This one I am not sure
Hi guys, i bought this phone before 3 months back from flipkart at the amount of $350, and today again i checked in flipkart the price is changed to $590..

I faced this problem about camera shutting down due to overheating after a factory data reset but that's acceptable. Apart from that I haven't faced any such issue while taking pics.
Anonymous, 01 Aug 2017Excellent camera clearity can beat i phone 6 s plus any time in terms of clearity. But worst ... moreNo I think they fixed the problem. Since XPERIA XZ PREMIUM in Phone Battles got more than 2 hours during the overheating test. He stopped the video because it took a long time recording 4K video. That is the best one I ever seen. 2 hours + with 4K recording with a decent amount of space for a 2 hour 4K video
Excellent camera clearity can beat i phone 6 s plus any time in terms of clearity.
But worst utility we can say camera is just show piece on this phone
For videos it can record upto 5 to 7 mins and camera shuts down due to rise in temperature and can bd used again after 10 mins.
For pics it can shoot 10 to 15 photos and shuts down due to temperature and can be used again after 10 mins.
Sony phones wre good only in camera department but now sony has started supplying crappy camera managment now its goodbye for sony.

After installing the android version 7.0 the phone is asking me again to update the android version but after installation it still appears to be 7.0. The bad thing is that the phone is asking me continuously to upgrade the system-android version after each update. I have even reset the device to factory setting but again the problem persist. Does anyone have the same problem? Please help...
