Well having the T-Mobile-certified VoLTE will allow the phone to ALSO utilize HD Voice as well, so they go hand-in-hand.
I don't care for it either. But I need T-Mobile-certified VoLTE in order to fully utilize the Band 12 spectrum while ON a phone call. For example, if I'm in a building and can only get Band 12, without T-Mobile-certified VoLTE, I would NOT be able to make or take a call (regardless of signal strength), with exception to 911. That's why this is an issue for ANYONE living in the U.S.
Do or can carriers grant such a thing on an individual basis??! I mean, that would be incredibly awesome if they did, but have you ever heard of a carrier actually doing that??
Well Sony could've made that request, but they're too busy making their customers miserable by waiting forever and not knowing what they're getting. lol HTC however did so on even their unlocked HTC 10 phones. It's called giving a s#it about your costumers. lol

I dont see why not....
Xperia has all the needed tech and codecs for it so....
You should ask T mobile if they will give you the certification included into your monthly provided plan...
Its upto the provider, not the phone manufacturer to provide that certification...

Well the way it was explained to me is that it's actually NOT enough to have VoLTE on the phone. It is if I'm using AT&T here in the U.S. (though no LTE for data during a call, but I don't care about that, just want VoLTE for the phone calls themselves so can fully use Band 12), but for T-Mobile, Sony has to have the VoLTE on the XP get CERTIFIED by T-Mobile for it to work on their network.
Does anyone know if the battery is better than the old version?? 2700 mAh ?? this does not look like a good battery.

It has VoLTE (HD+) and Hi-Res something on the box at the minute 3:53, while it seems to be provided by the carrier NTT DoCoMo. So, yeah you should try to ask T-Mobile if they will cover XP's VoLTE or wait for their announcement.
Perhaps this one might help? http://www.spectrumgateway.com/compatible-phones

Billygoat, 05 Jun 2016Can you link the the cite on which it says the x performance will have no fingerprint scanner ... moreHey Billygoat,
Well that would be the U.S. version of the X Performance which had those features taken out. The full specs for it can be found on the U.S. Sony Mobile website here: http://www.sonymobile.com/us/products/phones/xperia-x-performance/specifications/
The int'l/global version however appears to have everything: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/phones/xperia-x-performance/specifications/
Neither the int'l version or the U.S. version will have VoLTE or HD Voice though. Without VoLTE, the XP won't be able to take FULL advantage of the Band 12/700 MHz spectrum it has during INDOOR phone calls. This spectrum is much better at penetrating through buildings and walls than the other spectrums are, but to use it, the phone must have VoLTE that's been certified by whichever carrier you're using. Now that I just found this out, I'm considering buying the HTC 10 instead. We'll see.

I just noticed something interesting......... on the Global/Int'l Sony Mobile site, the Qnovo Charger is listed as UCH12, and is listed as having Quick Charge 3.0 capability:
But on the U.S. Sony Mobile site, the same charger is listed as UCH10, but it only has QC 2.0 capability:
WTF?! lol So does this mean that the U.S. variant, which has already been stripped of both IP65/68 & an active fingerprint sensor, also was downgraded to ONLY QC 2.0 capability while the int'l XP has 3.0??!!
What are your thoughts people?

Yeah but again, if you look on that page you linked me, it says that Qnovo is the CHARGER, not the battery too:

I thought the charger was QNovo. Is the battery used in the XP a QNovo too??Try contact to the official for futher information, if you really need it. I personally very appreciate Sony use the Qnovo battery it is very practical! The competitors will follow Sony use the Qnovo battery after that (but they will start trolling and bashing Sony at first).
Sony is leading!

I am very appreciate Sony use the Qnovo battery to ensure the battery lifespan, this is very important for a sealed battery phone. So, I want to tell those competitors posting here, Their Phones Without Qnovo Battery absolutely pathetic a weakness.
Perhaps, these competitors will follow Sony strengthen the battery by Qnovo battery. These competitors trolling and bashing Sony, but when they get the same features lately, they will praise for it, so whose is the stubborn fans?!
