Look at X performing against flagships:
VERY interesting videos! Seems like the X beat out the HTC 10 and LG G5 for sure. The S7 still won, but consider how close the results were, and that the XP has the 820 chip, so yeah....... it will prob be equal to or even beat out the S7.
Thanks for sharing!!!!!!
Tann Hauser, 27 May 2016But again, z5 usa version fingerprint scanner can be enabled if one wants to by simple flash
Yeah the geniuses over at XDA prob WILL come up with a fix for the fingerprint sensor software missing on the XP too, but even if that doesn't require root (it prob will lol), it's still an EXTRA step ppl have to take in order to have this feature restored. F that. lol
But I'm glad at least there was an option like that for the Z5, and that the same will very likely be so for the X and XP.

Well if not then why does the U.S. Sony Mobile site NOT have IP65/68 listed, even under the Full Specs? On the int'l site it even says "Durability
IP65/IP68 **; ** This service is not available in all variants or markets." So I am sure the U.S. variant won't have it (stupid Sony).
For sensor, I don't know either, but I'm NOT holding my breath that it will have it. At least they kept the free QNovo charger. lol No OTHER variant besides the U.S. one will have that.

As for fingerprint sensor...
Could be Same story as for z5...
Guess apple is strongly defending its turf there by patent infringment right laws...
Or it is about state law user privacy infringement....
(look up apple articles about that)
There is no other logical explanation
And yes I know all other manufacturers there retain that feature despite....
But obviously Sony stands on the point that those laws are about market monopoly, or privacy infrigement only, and will not payup, or giveup, out of shere principle.
Look at X performing against flagships:
I can only imagine what X Performance will be able to do with sd820
Another BONEHEAD move by Sony....after wisely adding the full fingerprint sensor option to the U.S. version of the XP, Sony has apparently reversed its decision and taken it back off again! WTF?! So the U.S. version now has NO fingerprint sensor software (the hardware is still there though) again, and no water-resistance either. It will STILL however be the ONLY XP variant to INCLUDE the new QNovo Quick Charge 3.0 charger. Not a fair tradeoff if you ask me. lol
want to buy it if was not for the price and the battery...
someone please tell me, what exactly does the "Qnovo" do i don't really think a software can make battery last longer, maybe it has some hardware thing that we don't know ?
the s7 with sd820's SOT is not high and is 3000mAh (higher resolution i know)
xiaomi mi5 worst than s7
XP with 300mAh less...
i search a lot about "Qnovo" and only thing showing is that make battery lifespan longer and charger time lower, maybe i'm missing something?
about the screen some one says it has a new screen with some new technology in it and will save lots of power, true or false?
and since sd820 have no low consume microprocessor i'm pretty worried about standby time too.
and finally a decent front camera !!!! a big YAY .
all other spec are just fine. you know... is sony.

Why everybody is talking about battery, since qualcomm 820 is less consumption from 810 by 40% and 5 inches screan i think it is better than any other sony devices.
gaaron, 26 May 2016About the dac its good when its roasted dac...:D

kenboi2, 26 May 2016Everything's good to me, but the battery :(I'm NOT worried. ;-)

Not really. "DAC" is simply the name of the chip itself. It's pretty much always combined with an "amp" (or amplifier) chip, again like my Oppo HA-2, which is a portable & premium amp/DAC device. I hook up my phone to it, and also my headphones. It does a more superior job of "cleaning up" the sound of my music.......removing some or all hiss, widening out the sound (aka giving it a bigger "soundstage"), improving instrument separation (so the instruments don't sound so compressed or like they're coming from one spot), clarity, etc. It's a really fantastic device that does much more than what my S7 (and pretty much all flagships) can do, simply because the amount of money that goes into pretty much all of these flagship phones is only a fraction of what is put into devices like my HA-2.
Now that doesn't mean that the sound coming from like the XP, S7, HTC 10, etc is bad. It's just not AS good. Out of all these newer devices, the ones with the best amp/DAC chipsets would be the LG V10 (which has a premium DAC in it....... very uncommon for a smartphone, the rest that I'm about to mention now don't have premium/expensive DACs in them, but still pretty good ones), the Sony XP's DAC will be amazing I'm sure b/c the Z3's was like the best of its time, and then the HTC 10 is prob a close third. The S7 and Note phones' DAC is great too, again, for a smartphone. lol
"LDAC" is just a term used to describe the codec/software/program used by certain Sony devices. More here about it: http://www.sony.net/Products/LDAC/
Wired headphones would never used LDAC as it is a "wireless-only" codec. Wired headphones simply take the converted (by DAC) digital-to-analog signal and play that (analog) sound.

RockStar2005, 26 May 2016Cool. Hopefully we BOTH find out our respective prices soon!
DAC stands for Digital to Anal... moreyeah, and hopefully for cheaper price than in Taiwan. (basically still almost IDR 10 million if converted from NTD 23,900, as comparison, S7 is now around IDR 8.5 million. If on Europe's level price, it'll be around IDR 12 million)
so, LDAC could generate better sound quality on bluetooth headphones? What about normal headphones with wire?
AnonD-537563, 26 May 2016what are ldac and dac? This pic explains it all witout a single word ;) http://www.sony-asia.com/microsite/hiresaudio/img/ldac/comparison_ldac_bluetooth.png
