For example, Galaxy S5 was plastic. But it had good build quality.
So just because a phone is plastic doesnt mean its cheaply built.
And in the case of Z, ONLY frame was plastic
Anonymous, 04 May 2016Nah, Xperia Z came before the M7 and it was the first to come with iPhone like build quality.
... moreXperia Z, did not even come close to iPhone in build quality.
There was no steel frame like in the Z1. It only had glass back.
If you even held a Z, you will know it feels like a plastic brick.
Z1 on the hand is premium, with smoothed out edges.
Anonymous, 06 May 2016Maybe because to reduce heat? Or because of qnovo battery tech? Let them review the XP.
Anoth... moreTo be honest.
None of these seem like legit reasons for smaller battery.
Except for Z2 being taller, wider.
Anonymous, 06 May 2016S6 was 6.8 mm thin including large camera bump.
Xperformance 8.7 mm thick with flat back.
... moreMaybe because to reduce heat? Or because of qnovo battery tech? Let them review the XP.
Another explanation maybe Sony doesnt want it to be as sleek and premium as the Z5.
gaaron, 05 May 2016Because the More battery capacity the bigger explosions it can make when sht happen bro thats ... moreProbably one of the most pathetic explanations to why a phone should not have large battery capacity.
Seriously if you think this garbage has any truth, just use an iPhone 4 with a
Anonymous, 06 May 2016Last year's S6 had even smaller 2500 mAh battery.
But when Samsung does that, it's high tech ... moreS6 was 6.8 mm thin including large camera bump.
Xperformance 8.7 mm thick with flat back.
There is no legitimate reason for Sony to put such a small battery into XPerformance.
To put this into perspective Xperia Z2 was 8.2 mm with 3200 mah.
Why thicker phone with 500 mah less? Why? Just why?
gringo, 04 May 2016hahaha... the z line is old now. the x series is a joke. you should see the review of htc 10 b... moreThere is nothing great about the HTC 10 compared to G5 and S7.
Most reviews tell it's a great all rounded phone but battery life isn't good.
gringo, 04 May 20162700mAh ... oh yeah ! welcome back to 2013. WTF !Last year's S6 had even smaller 2500 mAh battery.

Gigi , 05 May 2016And first... read the specification and then comment... it does have a fingerprint reader...So... moreYou just replied to a comment that SAID Z5 and X have fingerprint reader.
I'm afraid you replied to the wrong comment
Can't wait for this phone. I have a Xperia Z2 and Sony upgraded me to Marshmallow last month.. #RespectSONY
Is not the amount of mAh that have a battery, you can't do nothing with a 4000 mAh battery that drains all the power in 6 or 8 hours, Sony knows how to create a great, fast and optimized system, with a 2700 mAh battery of the X Performance i'm sure that you can enjoy so full your phone. I'm an Apple user but I have to recognize the power of Sony and his fluid system.
Kipson Israyel, 04 May 2016Sony every new phone introduce Battery capacity also reduce Sony Xperia Z3 – 3100 mAh Batter... moreBecause the More battery capacity the bigger explosions it can make when sht happen bro thats why and i think you dont want the big explosion happen to your house or office right so stop complaining about the batt capacity bro...complain later bro if some people have this phone and mke a review about the battery...

Its just a show off feature brah im telling you that phone won't last...
Sony system updates sucks!!! I have xperia z3,they removed the ps3compatibility...
Anonymous, 04 May 2016There is a fingerprint reader -_-And first... read the specification and then comment... it does have a fingerprint reader...Sony Z5 has a fingerprint reader.
Anonymous, 04 May 2016There is a fingerprint reader -_-There is not all about how many mAh has the battery, but is about the apps optimised to use less battery. And this is a thing that Sony is good at! It is not enough to have a 3500 baterry if the software consumes it in 6 hours...or it last like this 6 month (IPhone) 😂.
