I noticed in the specs "Bluetooth: v4.2, A2DP, aptX, LE," What happened to LDAC? Originally the Ultra line the phone size is so big, they wanted you to use the SBH accessory to answer calls. SBH-52... When the SBH-54 came out along with h.ear hi-res audio. You would think LDAC would come in about this time. The serious audio people want an LDAC mini receiver, the little bridge between. Yes it's in Sony phones, and soon to be on available on every phone since the new press release of Android O + Sony's LDAC. The freaking SBH-56 should have been the it item for that bridge of this shifting period.
I had the XA Ultra, but my GPS didn't work, I was going to send it to get fixed, but totally dropped it on it's face before I could send it. *sad* But that forced me to get the Z5 Premium, which I'm totally happy with. I'm like all the tweaks Sony put on the XA1 Ultra; moving the speakers to front dual-facing. More internal memory with 32/64gb integral option and 4gb RAM. Seems that everyone agrees that the batter is too small, and we would rather have a bigger batter and don't care about the weight of the phone. For me I just care about the screen size, so I already weight of the phone is last on my list. We are competing with the S8+ here now! I just wonder if they are going to bring back Z Ultra write with any object feature to go against the S Pen.
if u dont wanna cell phones then dont create it.
but stop making handicapped phones like ultra series.
would u buy that for any of your family member sony? huh?.
Mr.ruhail, 14 Mar 2017Hii sony, i used all previous ultras, and was waiting for new ultra with bigher battery a and... moreI'm also disapointed to see the 2700 battery again. I have the Xa Ultra and really want to love this phone but the battery hardly gets me through a day. Sony support forums are full of XA users complaining about battery life and they clearly don't listen to customer base because they went ahead again with the same battery. Sony I will be looking elsewhere when it's time for a replacement.
I think it should be 3300 or 3400 mha, coz its big screen half pbone hafl phabet or tablet.
RK xperia, 02 Apr 2017If I would have been an Engineer The situation would be different.Whatever I spoke its fact if... moreFor SP's case, so true! it was the fastest dual-core phone I have ever had. And probably the fastest dual-core phone at that time. Had so much fun with it from official 4.1 until cusrom 5.1.1 :D
UhateSonyRight, 31 Mar 2017This engineer is great! If I would have been an Engineer The situation would be different.Whatever I spoke its fact if you go back two years from now they were some awesome devices like xperia M,SP,T2Ultra which were too good for daily user and for developer but present Xperia devices are lagging. The technology improves but it doesn't get deprove which is present seen in Xperia models. If you ever used an Xperia device you would understand the difference of xperia device which is at present and past.
Sony perfects it's product unlike other brands they will show you new features on their technology but in the end it's still in progress and it fails to do what it should be.
Android Freak, 06 Mar 2017The specifications are decent but the battery capacity is little ................................ moreBingo. Well said. If including a bigger battery into a phone will lead to a bigger phone chassis ( wider and/ or thicker) even then its fine. Its a small price to pay for a bigger battery life nd many people wont mind an extra 1mm in width if they get a lot of battery life for it. This phone is already pretty narrow at 79 mm. Adding 1 or 1.5 mm to the width is no big deal, samsung and other 6 inch phones are i think even more than that. So sony can get away with it.
Also gorilla glass protection is compulsory. A 6 inch phone will more likely tend to slip from the hand onto the ground than say a 5.5 or 5 inch phone. So gorilla glass protection is compulsory. As it is, sony service/repair centers are rare compared to samsung. So if there is no gorilla glass protection... sony phones will more likely be damaged and less likely to be repaired (due to lesser service centers) than samsung phones.
This is a great phone. It's a nice high end phablet. The battery could of at least be a 3200mAh. Just 2700 for a Phablet sorta sucks. Especially a Sony.
Good phone overall.
Everyone's got something bad to say about Sony funny enough they still go ahead nd buy it. What's ironic is the very same people say Samsung is best but also have a bad opinion about it and end up buying Sony again. Funny enough Samsung as a lifetime phone is boring compared to owning a Sony phone because it meets every techno geek's expectation, if you a gamer u would understand me point of view. If you have a bad opinion about Sony don't buy it stick to Samsung simple but I know you will end up buying Sony once you get bored by Samsung because Sony's the best there is.
Anonymous, 29 Mar 2017Well said! That's why Xperia was underestimated, everytime.@s3mm... I totally agree with you... I couldn't have said it any better. Sony will always be on top and Samsung will always fall behind.
This video of the new Samsung S8 6.2 inches upsets me... The Sony Xperia Z Ultra 6.4 inches (2013), all Sony had to do is chip away the bezel to get to this point, add a flash, use the same snapdragon and be done with it. I had to walk through mud with T2 Ultra, C5 Ultra, XA Ultra to keep the size... Crappy mid range phones that didn't do it for me. I'm totally getting this XA1 Ultra, but still upset getting a MediaTek. They deminished the name of Ultra and now we see a 2013 in 2017. The 6 inch premium screen. So upsetting.
