Another "me too" phone without any advance in spec's. Why even bother? The battery is too small to be meaningful, the non-removable battery is not attractive; I want to be able to change batteries without going to the service centre. They get hot, they melt, they catch fire!! IP 68? And, no improvement in specs at all; even the RAM at 4 GB is too light WTF Sony what are you (not) doing? Get out of this business if you can't actually DO SOMETHING.
Ali, 28 Feb 2017Sony gives us again huge top and bottom ugly, its 2017. please sony learn from samsung and lg.... moreO'come on, Samsung phones are clones they all look the same (except for the size) be it flagship like S7 or the mid range devices like the A series, you can't even make out the difference, same goes for the I phones they also have huge bezels top and bottom.
Ali, 28 Feb 2017Sony gives us again huge top and bottom ugly, its 2017. please sony learn from samsung and lg.... moreFirst of all, bezelless display is a gimmick feature, AND.. which Samsung or LG midrange smartphone has a bezelless display? could you please show us?
I wonder how long will battery life last on XA1? Xperia Z Ultra has 3050 mAh battery and lasts me 2 days, 'coz I only use it or gaming and watching movies.
Sony gives us again huge top and bottom ugly, its 2017. please sony learn from samsung and lg. Atleast your flagship should b decent I beleive in sony but this time... why XA1 Ultra have huge bottom and top.
Nice jobs will done Sony but bigger display needs big batteries like other brands keep it up
This looks like a gorgeous phablet, might be getting this for watching movies and games.
Navee, 27 Feb 2017Very Low Battery....I was expecting Snapdragon 835...and the same camera as of XZ PREMIUM...After Z Ultra there is one mpty place for high end phablet and best rumors:
Xperia XZ Premium Plus (5.8" till 6.4")
Navee, 27 Feb 2017Very Low Battery....I was expecting Snapdragon 835...and the same camera as of XZ PREMIUM...Go for xz premium lol.
No ear for listening!
*165 x *79 x *8.1 mm + *188gr = *2700mAh
What do you think about this:
155× 69 ×7.1 mm+less than 150gr & 2700mAh
Trenton , 27 Feb 2017Wow..Do you know anything about android?? As years pass by the software becomes lighter. My Z5... moreim not developer... yes your right from donut to nougat its been so many tweaks to providing power efficiency as also the os size getting larger, let's see how gsm review this device...
maybe with 7.0 and 16nm processor could last more than z5
I am using Xperia Z Ultra (2013) with 6.4 inch screen... An I have 3000 mAh battery. Really worried about the life-time of new XA1... It's more powerful compare to Z Ultra, but has smaller battery.
Very Low Battery....I was expecting Snapdragon 835...and the same camera as of XZ PREMIUM...

z ultra, t2 ultra, c5 ultra, xa ultra now xa1 ultra
5th gen of ultra and still no finger print reader (forgiven)okay, but 2700mah for a ips 6inch phablet even with helio p20 in 16nm, cannot be even on android 7.xx ... I can imagine the screen on-time much worse if played games on it (octacore running in 2700mah) you must always bring your charger and near an electrical outlet.... a dead sony walking..... I love the design but battery I cant... they already sacrifice many things budget phone already have...
SkorN, 27 Feb 20172700mAh battery for a 6' display? Are you kidding me? It's weird to be true
- no fingerprint
- battery too small, should have been at least 3300 mAh
- camera speed still slow during saving
I call this xperia ultra lame, I need to replace z ultra with high end chip, big removeable battery, whatever camera
