I have praised virtually all other ascpects of this device. I have also stated that there are conditions in which this camera will be just fine.
Not only that but I have stated repeatedly that I own many Sony products.
So again, prove that I hate Sony as a company, and maybe then I can start taking you seriously.
Until then I don't see why I should have to falsely praise something I find flaw with just to keep you fanboys happy.

Good luck trying to do that.....

That's really your argument?
Got a message for Sony mobile inc. Try to improve software for image processing for your camera, a great hardware must be.back up by a great software, please consider this.

Many reviews says sony xperia xz has a great camera, and ot is impossible to take photo on complete darkness without a noise.
Lex79, 05 Jun 2017Ah so it's a deliberate attempt by Sony to make improve uses photography skills? Nonsense, ... moreWell its a manual mode right unless you cant do it right. Every smartphone has a flaws, maybe in xz is its image processor, but look at yhe bright side, it is a software, if it is the hardware then it would be much worst like a broken lens glass I read about on a famous phone.
AnonD-674518, 05 Jun 2017That could help you become a better photographer. Ah so it's a deliberate attempt by Sony to make improve uses photography skills?
Nonsense, if someone wants to developed those skills via smartphone cameras and are not interested in going down the dslr route, then I would suggest an LG.
Their camera ui is miles ahead of Sony's, especially where 'manual' control is concerned.
AnonD-674518, 05 Jun 2017Its not only the camera performance, it also involve yours.True a good camera is not important as a good photographer.
But tools matter, and when it comes to mobile cameras, the XZ is hampered as a tool by its poor software.
Poke holes in what you perceive as my poor skills as a photographer by all means, it's doesn't change that fact.
AnonD-674518, 05 Jun 2017It takes time to learn the manual mode setting, you could get better. Practice could help. Its... moreThe manual mode is not really a manual mode.
ISO is buried in a separate menu, there is no kelvin adjustment for white balance, and if you alter shutter speed then ISO defaults to auto.
The reverse is also true, try setting a specific shutter speed than go and alter the ISO, watch what happens, the shutter will default to auto.
It's not manual at all, it's ISO priority & shuttter priority with 4 useless white balance presets.
Yes I've played around with this camera extensively, as camera ui's go it's cr*p.
So keep pointing the finger at me by all means, if it means you feel good to be defending your precious brand. But I know when I see poor software, and the Xperia camera ui is just that.
Another thing, I hope sony read this. One of possible reason why sony is less popular than samsung is because of sony doesnt give much effort on marketing strategies, it means that the phone is alright but they doesn't commercialize it on other media except for net. Here the sony doesn't commercialize xz on local tv.

AnonD-481725, 04 Jun 2017Xz camera not that good?! Buddy, you may be don't know the basics of camera. I've the silver platinum XZ (F8332), it's really a great phone but the only thing I dislike is the camera, specially indoors. I know the manual mode has some settings but that fiddle takes some time and you miss those candid moments.

There are areas where the Xperia camera set up is good enough, convenience is not one of them. If your going to take the time to stage a shot, then yes you can coax a great result out of an Xperia.
But that takes time, for quick impromptu shots (an area Sony liked to highlight as a particular strength in their marketing spiel) the XZ is almost completely unreliable.
