Why Sony? Why to put this small battery for such a great phone.? Why don't you be a leader of all and uses a big battery for such a great phone. I will never think to buy this phone because of the battery. I like to watch long time videos, so this phone will not work for me nor Samsung s8 will work . Both companies were mistaken to put a small battery in there premium handsets.
Just %50 reduce in top bezel and only %50 reduce in bottom bezel and metal unibody on back panel ! Thanks in advance

Firstly, more MP doesn't mean better camera performance. The 19MP shooter in the XZP blows away the 23MP shooter in the Z5P in every manner. Also, it has laser autofocusing and RGBC color sensor, which the z5P lacks. Also, issues like corner softness and lens flare is also gone. What's more, XZP's camera sensor has it's own DRAM and supports 960 fps slowmo videos. Does the Z5P support that? Obviously no.
And yes, battery capacity of the XZP is smaller, but it still performs significantly better than the Z5P's battery. 72h endurance rating vs 50h. This is mainly due the the Qnovo tech which XZP has, and the much more energy efficient SD835 .
So don't go for specs alone, they can be misleading.
Anonymous, 23 May 2017A nice looking phone but the specs don't beat the Z5 premium which have 23MP and 3430mAh batte... moreYou know nothing about the IMX400 stacked dram camera sensor. The IMX400 sensor is same size as previous 23MP sensor but it reduce a little bit to 19MP AND increase the pixels size 19% larger than previous 23MP sensor AND most important things is add-in a stacked Dram.

Goodluck dropping your sammy no bezel screen xD
Anonymous, 23 May 2017A nice looking phone but the specs don't beat the Z5 premium which have 23MP and 3430mAh batte... moreYour comments about reduce specifications of camera and battery is correct; however, we are primarily buying a phone not a camera. See the LTE band that it covers. It is the combined specification of two Z5 models in one. That is impressive and usefull if you are a traveler with three SIM cards from US, Europe and Asia.

lolalola, 23 May 2017As I previously said, the S8 was supposed to be announced at the MWC in February and released ... moreYou'd definitely notice a big difference between the S8 and G6 in VR. Diamond pentile pixel arrangement in the S8 means it's got less pixels that the G6.
And yes S8 was supposed to be announced on MWC but they didn't, so can't talk about that.
I like the fact that the screen will only run at 4k when playing 4k videos or games. I couldn't care less if the home screen or gmail ran in 4k, it would just be wasting battery. Who really needs to be able to look at app icons or read an e-book in 4k resolution anyway? It's not like this phone is being marketed towards humans with eagle eyes transplanted into their eye sockets.

A nice looking phone but the specs don't beat the Z5 premium which have 23MP and 3430mAh battery life since XZ premium having little lesser 19MP and 3230mAh battery life, they are making is pay more for lower spec compared to it's predecessor, which I'm not satisfied at all.
Is there next flagship coming with 16MP and 3030mAh battery life.
What about a year later 13MP and 2830mAh, is Sony starting to copy Samsung, is this a joke or what???
Anonymous, 23 May 2017"Btw, the S8 is HDR 10 compliant and it's released earlier than the XZP."
S8 was announced ... moreAs I previously said, the S8 was supposed to be announced at the MWC in February and released in March like it has always been in the past but was pushed back a month later. A one month gap in release between the S8 and G6 doesn't matter. The S8 is still the one that popularize the near-bezelless screen form factor not the G6. It is the one that will be copied by others not the G6. Developers will start optimizing their apps for the wide aspect ratio because of the growing S8 userbase not the G6.
Above 500ppi, there is no more perceivable difference. Display quality is what matters more and the S8 screen is so much better than the G6's.

S8 was announced after the XZP, so XZP was first.
"Samsung did it first. Just because LG released the first phone in the market to feature a tall near-bezelless screen doesn't mean it did it first."
Like you said, Samsung was only experimenting. Tons of leaks (like per week) before the S8 was even announced, maybe done purposely for publicity. G6 was announced AND released before the S8, so G6 is the first.
Only if the bezels was slightly reduced, it looks like early 90s flat top haircut lol, Sony needs to trim that bezels for their next flagship. It's so easy to see someone this kind enlarged bezels.
These comment threads have become a usless Samsung vs. Sony debate. I believe both have their merits. My wife has the S8+ and it's top notch. Battery life, speed, build, and display are top notch. I pre ordered the Premium and believe it's going to be top notch as well. At the end if the day it's about preference. Both are flagship devices and can provide very good experiences. Think Mercedes vs. BMW. Let's stop all the bashing and focus this thread on the Premium. If you want to discuss Samsung, got to the Samsung listing please!
Tann Hauser, 23 May 2017Let me repeat this:
All I see is
worlds first HDR compatible 4k screen,
worlds first dram... moreLet me repeat also. LG released the G6 just one month earlier than the S8. The S8 was supposed to be released in March because this is normally the time Samsung release their Galaxy "S" flagship series. They just delayed the release by one month for security reasons. The 18.5:9 SuperAMOLED curved display, which is the first of its kind itself, has long been on development long before LG thought of releasing a similar but technically inferior 18:9 flat LCD phone.
Sony already released a 4k display two years ago and no one followed them. Samsung has ushered in a new era in mobile technology with the release of the S8. Even Apple is going to release a tall, bezelless, curved OLED iPhone later this year. This is what you call true innovation.
