Why is the device so heavy when the 6.0 inches sony is just 180-ish gram ? isn't the 835 Snapdragon smaller than all other processors ? I can't justify the weight !
It's longer, wider and thicker than the Z5P, doesn't have an FM Radio, has smaller microprocessor architecture and SMALLER SCREEN.
How can it be 15 grm heavier than it's predecessor ? it's even heavier than the XA1 ultra !
Can anyone having Xperia XZ confirm if installing 'Spirit1 FM apk' allows to listen local radio stations over air without internet data usage ??
AnonD-172447, 06 Mar 2017Sony XZ premium pros :

The Camera software has been refined, and it doesn't take a minute or two to get used to it.
The Battery is decent for the screen size (S8 will have 3,000mAh battery to power the 5.8" QHD Display), and Sony's power of battery optimization with the help of Qnovo Battery Technology, and even the power efficiency of the SD835, the phone should last a full day or even two.
Excellent, but... Continue to use Xperia Z5 Premium, until radio and IP68 together...
that's the most beautiful Sony mobile (in my opinion) but Sony really have to start trimming the bezels
AnonD-441601, 05 Mar 2017Well you will probably not believe me but i really dont believe on what you said because its n... moreI've seen a speed test app opening and switching and web browsing video where the xz won over the oneplus 3 in most tests. As it should be, sony have decades of experience with hardware and software.
Was prepared to buy a galaxy s8, and then Sony rocks out yet another insane phone.
No S8 anymore.
I really hope Sony overclocked the XZ Premium to 4 x 2.5 and 4 x 2.0 instead of using the stock clock speed.....
Sony XZ premium pros :
- SD 835
- 4k Hdr
- 64 internal storage
- slow motion 960 fps
- reliable waterproof phone since Xperia Z
- top notch design ( in my opinion )
- nice UI and smooth UX
- normal bezel (comfort to horizontal handling)
- side fingerprint is the best thing for me
- small battery capacity (min. 3600 mah)
- camera software
- gimmick feature (iris scanner, pen, etc)
- dual camera (2017 thing)
- pricey ( but this is Japanese product..high quality), since chinnese brand also put quite expensive price today..
But i loved Sony XZ premium. If samsung s8 vomes with curve screen thing..i will pass it. Will buy this one..because i,m not comfortable handling curve or bezelless phone..always disturbing screen activity.

USD$0.5 to $3. Foxconn now have an average wage of slightly less than USD$2 per hour. There are many phones that a range of prices and what is a value to you against your daily use of a device. Personally I got the XA Ultra, until the price dropped and held my breath to get the Z5 Premium Dual. I love the phone and it does everything I want it to do. I will prob do the same thing XA1 Ultra in 64GB, 4GB RAM, and then the XZ Premium when the market price has settled down.
Anonymous, 05 Mar 2017Just because the XZ premium doesn't have FM Radio, Sony should sell it for $200 less? Wow, I d... moreYes Sony took out the FM Radio, which I think is a marketing mistake. Because the people who are die hard Sony fans the most are in South America and Europe. I'm from America and listen to the car radio, if I want to step out of my car I want to use my phone, but for free, because now and days the Radio apps i.e. TuneIn Radio, is starting to charge for their service, on top of that, it takes way from my data. Some american gyms to listen to the treadmill TVs have Radio Frequency choices. The Premium stamp should have everything and the kitchen sink. Take out the FM Radio is forgetting who their users are. Me, if there is an Apocalypse, we will still use radio over Twitter.
So in the specs the XZ Premium is also Dual SIM. I have the Xperia Z5 Premium, and ATT turned off their 2G towers in the US January 2017. So my 2nd SIM no longer works. What is the point of a 2nd SIM if they haven't fixed the issue of the 2nd SIM working in the US. Will they both work in 4G LTE network? because so far it how they've been making them is it can only be one or the other can be on 4G LTE and the other has to be on a different network. Any answers?
Already advertised this phone in several online shops in Taobao website China for around 650 USD.

We're paying for the RnD and software development.
Just see brand like Oppo and Huawei, they are chinese brand yet priced like samsung, sony, lg, htc & apple cause they have RnD to fund.
The result is:
The edge display
Motion eye cam
4K hdr display
Qnovo & battery care
Oppo periscope optical zoom
Huawei Dual camera
Lg dual cam.
While brand like OP and Xiaomi just buy part and assamble them (mi mix is from sharp idea)
They cut cost for RnD which is quite hefty.
