Bought this phone a month and a half ago, but I opened the box only about a week ago...
Reason for buying this phone:
1. Dual SIM - Although now it is hybrid, it is having 64GB, so I don't need an SD card for now.
2. User - I can have two users set-up on this phone which I cannot do with my previous Note.
3. No Bloatware - On my previous Note, I have to disable so many apps I do not need.
4. Bought it to satisfy my smartphone requirement, not the people who are around me...
Jesus, reading these comments are just depressing. People hating Sony, people fiercely defending Sony against haters. One thing for those absolute imbeciles: A phone is a phone. It's not going away no matter how much you wail and scream at it. Seriously. Are you going to spend the rest of your life behind the screen hating on this product and that product, expecting others to follow suit and do the same? Do you think you are being a helpful person by angrily persuading and belittling Internet users that their phone is trash?
If you want to be helpful, follow these steps.
1. Buy the phone that you hate on. Use it normally like any other user. Normally means casual Internet browsing, watching videos/films, playing games, listening to music, making/receiving calls, reading e-mails and news, setting alarms/reminders, paying by NFC. That doesn't include CPU benchmarks or running forty background apps while streaming 4K video.
2. If there were issues, then compare with other phones. If it happens in other phones, then you're expecting too much from smartphone technology in 2017. If it only applies to your hater phone, then report to the phone's manufacturer; in this case Sony. They might listen to you if the report is well-written. They certainly won't listen to everyday hate comments.
But if you hate a company no matter what it does or how many improvements it makes, then I dare say you're in need of a psychiatrist who can do something about your stubborn convictions - may the gods bless you.
Xqui, 07 Oct 2017Is the camera distortion fixed? There is no such thing from the beginning, watch YouTube camera comparisons, or check GSMarena camera tools.
Anonymous, 06 Oct 2017Sony will fix all bugs. It is Sony man. Are you listen me?Iphone 8 has to fix the swelling battery problems first,
and new A11 chip bug that has 32kb l2cache as to A10 64bit l2 cache, and the lost headphone socket bug, and mono sound recording bug...to even be considered a worthy contender to XZ Premium.
Ali Bashir, 06 Oct 2017Well since none of what you mentioned referenced with this site then it is as usual lies, fabr... moreDenying all the Sony flaws is pointless. As they are all discussed and recognized by Sony on Sony managed forums. Your attempts at hiding Sony's faults is useless. And even worse, by then bashing Samsung in a Sony forum. Nobody cares about Samsung here, as this is a Sony forum. Calling me a fanboy ? I have never said what phone I own, so your insecurities are showing. Maybe, I'm a disgruntled Sony owner.
What are about grid screen problems on Sony phones ? The blue tinting , washed out colours etc etc. Sony has listed a recall in June 2017 for exploding batterys in its laptops. This was the biggest battery recall in history. From 2006 - 2017. Over 14 recalls from exploding batterys and over 14 million batterys recalled. Don't believe me, then use google and type in "exploding Sony batterys" and you will get hundreds of links, including official Sony links.
Anonymous, 06 Oct 2017Obviously you don't watch or read any current or past information about Sony phones. Sony phon... moreI don't believe in everything that u said about Sony, except for low-light. It is true, but not that exaggerated, because it is not the worst, it is slightly more than average, but not the the best. Do u even think people will think that a smartphone have that many faults? U are just spouting bad things about every single aspect of their smartphone. I bought Sony's high-end flagships since 2013, which is the Z series and the current gen X series. Sony's smartphones don't have any of these issues till now, except my XPERIA Z1 starts to slow a little, but thats normal, since I used it for about more than 3 years already. Their software is smooth and fluid, snappy I gotta say, in my own experience with their high-end flagships for these 4 years. Their software is as stock as stock ANDROID, with some Sony addition on top of that. Performance wise it is very smooth well since it is almost like stock ANDROID. I wouldn't say battery life is mediocre. Their previous gen high-end flagship got a slightly more beefier battery even than my recent XPERIA XZ1, but I gotta say, their optimization is getting better, not laggy or anything for the software, I wouldn't complain about the current battery size, because I have noticed better battery life on my XPERIA XZ1 when I compare to my older XPERIA Z2. For the design, yes, they need improvements, but their design still looks good even in 2017, just that they haven't shaved off their bezel into thinner ones. So when I see your comment, I clearly knew u are just another hater, this time even worse than the rest of the haters I encountered, u said everything is bad including low-light performance for their cameras. Yes that is true, but for my own experience I didn't see any other issue that u mentioned except poor low-light performance. It is poor in low-light, but if u know how to tweak in Manual Mode by tuning the ISO or shutter speed like me, u will have a much more pleasing low-light photo. Seriously, don't be a hater
[deleted post]What about the inflammation of the battery in the iPhone 8 haha sucker. I'll take a distorted camera over that dangerous hand grenade
Anonymous, 06 Oct 2017Obviously you don't watch or read any current or past information about Sony phones. Sony phon... moreWell since none of what you mentioned referenced with this site then it is as usual lies, fabricated from fanboys like you, all what i did actually see from two years until now is Samsung smartphones exploding and reddish tint display.... Rarely i did see reports about issues from non-Samsung smartphones.
Ali Bashir, 06 Oct 2017What bugs? from where do you always come with these typical intels, do you even watch YouTube,... moreObviously you don't watch or read any current or past information about Sony phones. Sony phones have more design faults and software bugs than any other brand. Its all over the internet. Sony still has the worst low light photography, below average speakers, below average speaker quality, overheating problems, the most buggy software updates, laggy UI, terrible battery life, wifi connection problems, faulty bluetooth, camera distortion, failing & obsolete screens and the list just goes on and on and on.
Don't believe me, then go to the Sony operated phone forums for the real truth.
Anonymous, 06 Oct 2017Sony will fix all bugs. It is Sony man. Are you listen me?sony is overpriced and unstable. they never fix any bugs. like their unfixable distorted camera
[deleted post]What bugs? from where do you always come with these typical intels, do you even watch YouTube, Sony Xperia, Google pixel, one plus, are the smoothest Android smartphone bug free, even Apple which very known for their clean UI struggling to surpass these companies "watch IPhone 8 speed tests", and as usual Samsung with their buggy touchwise destroying Android reputation.
