Its better to access a functional feature from toggle than exit it then tap icon. That features like screen recorder, screenshot etc.
And download 3rd party app means youll have many icons form imperfect apps.
There are also many feature lacking you cant solve with download from PS, like tap to wake, and fingerprint trick, as i know this phone fingerprint function is only for unlocking phone. it cant be utilized to secure file or apps.

Stop getting so easi... moreI used that blue night filter app on my Z3, worthless I tell you and it still feels uneasy on the eyes. There's something not right about Sony's UI. I'm guessing it had something to do with both software and hardware, and it's the same old Trimulinos display they have been using for 5 years on their flagship tier. Where most Amoleds phones like Samsung, LG, OnePlus already have built in night mode under display settings to adjust screen calibration which Sony's doesn't have.

You just implied its lacking features, I say it is not, so starting a discussion about your claim....
You linked a blue filter feat missing.
Sony had that, removed it....
Simple...why bloat UI with stuff like that, when there are a dozen same free apps on store doing the same, to install if you want and need that feat.
...bloated UI is not so update friendly and fluent, as you noticed yourself...
So why unnecessarily bloat it?
On the other hand, there is for ex Sonys screen Glove mode extra feat..., youd have to root to have that feat, while nightmode is easily installable from store.
So again, I dont see Sonys UI missing feats at all, even tho its light.
Anonymous, 10 Dec 2017Never implied that putting a light skin with few features is a bad thing. Stop getting so easi... moreThe same happen with tap to wake and file manager. It looks like they only do copy pasting, so when they find a feature or app dont work well in new android version, they dont do anything.

Hey so far with the new release of the OnePlus 5t, is the Sony XZp a better option or does the 5t take the prize? Thank you

for some few minor feats lacking on my X Perf, there are equal amount of Sony feats that make up for it....
Dont just talk "out of a hat"...

Essentially, the Sony software writers have nothing much to write when preparing a new Android version.

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2017Hi! Is it still worth buying this phone now, just a couple of months away from the new release... moreJust expect a drop in price for this phone when the new flagship gets released so it's still worth it and I doubt it'll get SD845 SoC as Samsung is gonna hoggle the first batch for it's S9 series and Sony gonna get the 2nd batch a couple of months later.
Anonymous, 08 Dec 2017Sweeeetttt Sony beaSt of cell! and also the XZ Premium crushed all other phones in speed test, it sure is the best of this year, and my predictions since its announcement in MWC were right.
Interesting to see how the Xperia XZ Premium destroyed the over priced over hyped Apple iPhone X:

No autoadaptive optimisation where and when it matters, like on XZ Premiums 4k screen, for better gaming and UI performance...
XZ Premium...twice the fps performance on max graphics, with the same gpu...(25 vs 12)
12 is pretty much a midrange level result for sth called a flagship.
And it certainly shows in real life usage(gaming and UI)...every somewhat demanding app or game stutters and lags.
No flagship experience there...
That 2k is certainly a gimmick in that regard, user has no benefit of it overall, as you have to actually turn on 1080p mode to have some near-flagship user experience.
Guess that is why those devices come with FHD resolution preset out of the box, by OEMs own choice.
Xperias smart 4k screen is a much smarter tech solution.
