AnonD-481725, 28 Apr 2017Accept the truth, the Galaxy s8 is a massive fail same as the note 7, swallow it somehow, you ... moreHow is the most praised smartphone in history, the one that has broken pre-order records in the US and Korea and is set to be the best selling smartphone of the year a "massive fail?" The S7 edge's AMOLED vertical pink line was a bigger issue than the S8's normal red tint, and still the S7 sold 50 million units. For the S8 to fail massively it has to explode as the Note 7 which is never going to happen given Samsung's 8-point battery check. The S8 is the safest smartphone you can buy right now. Not even extreme conditions can make its battery explode. A massive fail is a 2017 flagship smartphone that has a specs of a 2016 smartphone like Sony. The S8 is a glimpse of what phones in the future will be.

All that really counts on a phone is Screen on Time on certain brighness level.... cause it levels up standbytime, system battery usage and screen usage while phone active....
Nobody I know uses a phone to watch 10 hr of video straight, or continually surfs the web for 10 hr, or talks for some 25 hr... .
SoT is best merit of day by day usage pattern, inbetween needing to recharge your phone.
My phone got lousy 61hr in test here, at 200 nits. Yet It achieves at same nits 7-8 hr SoT every day before need to recharge. While inactive, loses only 1% in 7 hr inactive overnight.
Thats indeed great batterylife.
While some other phones that got great video, web, talk endurance here, actually waste too much percents while on standby, so even if having for ex 90 hr on test, have only about 7 hr SoT max on 200 nits.
Have read an article about S8+ with 3500mah (88hr end) achieving max 7hr20min of SoT, and only after medium adjustments, deactivating apps, etc. It could do more with extreme adjustments I guess.
While I got even more from my phone with medium adjustment , max 8hr40min SoT from 2700mah(61hr end).
So all in all, I seem to have to recharge my 61hr phone less often than those having 88hr.

battery life is better on s7
cam maybe better then xz not xzs
price dosent matter in fact,s7 is half year older then xz,and one year then xzs
what else is better on s7 then xz and xzs? or its not
Anonymous, 20 Apr 2017Then one could also argue that the other speed tests which Tech trinkets and Phone battles do ... moretech trinkets tests are way better in fact,he is doing test properly, more less.. problem with him is that he compares phone like xperia xa ultra with s7 or it was s6,dosent even matter phones are not in same price range and s6 or s7 are more powerfull, they simply haev better chipsets
phone buffs test dosent show anything,it not posible to click app in same time for every phone if you understand me? it takes few seconds maybe till you finger comes to app icon, and then back to home button, and you cant do it in same time for every test.. its not relevant, and boot up time dosent have anything to do with real life speed of phones... most people dosent even turn off there phones... in fact they should at least once a week, but they dont

No one cares about the red tint but non-Samsung users. Samsung has no new highend phone released in the past six months but the S7 has already sold more than 50 million units worldwide, that's more than the sales of all Sony phones in an entire year. Both Samsung's flagship and midrange phones sell like hotcakes.

The S8 has best display EVER on any electronic gadget including TV displays and not just among smartphones. Read Displaymate's technical review. The S8 display is even better than Samsung's 4k OLED TVs. But I understand if you don't like SuperAMOLED considering you're so used to looking on the cheap blue-tinged LCD display of Sony Xperia phones.

The S8 is the most critically acclaimed smartphone of 2017. Other smartphone manufacturers are only starting to catch up to Samsung's last year flagship (S7). They're never going to equal the level of technological ingenuity and craftmanship of the S8. The S8 is the most advanced smartphone right now. The features the S8 has will to come to other smartphones after 5 years.

Its a great flagship in all aspects.Just use the tool compare with any current phone on the line.
Anonymous, 21 Apr 2017All cases? I never said the S7 was better than the XZ in all cases. The S7 is better than XZ in all cases. It's a pity how Sony tried to release a flagship TWICE in a span of only 6 months but still can't beat Samsung's one-year old S7 flagship.
700 dollars for basically a 2016 smartphone? This is not a worthy purchase. If you add just 50 dollars more you can already get a proper flagship 2017 smartphone with the latest processor, fastest RAM and UFS storage, and best screen technology and design bundled with expensive AKG earbuds, aka Samsung Galaxy S8.
