a little tip to anyone who plans to buy this phone, do not buy it because of its water resistant feature. submerging it under water from time to time sustains pressure so over time the water resistant really just disappears. and do not push its water resistant feature to its limits. do not submerge it under water for over 3 feet and no longer than 10minutes, otherwise you'll just be disappointed.
I never cared about the water resistant feature. I don't plan on using it under water. I just wanted a good smartphone with a classy look and can function well on my needs (email, messaging and calls). 5 weeks old now and not a single problem on how I use it.
Guys i am existing user of Xperia z....bt me facing much prob of heating phone...can ny1 suggest something regarding it!!
dnt waste ur money on this phone. ive got dis mob a month back and nw its completely dead. the so called water resistant is no more water resistant. thers a manufacturing defect in this mob by which d water enters into the mob from the back pannel left side (camera side) n d warranty doesn cover it. such a waste.
AnonD-258745, 28 Apr 2014Should i buy this phone or the Nexus 5, the sony's is older but the specs are higher, i dont r... moreboth phones will probably get newer updates, specs-wise the Nexus 5 wins. the only downside to it is its storage, you can only choose between a 16gb or a 32gb unit. unlike xperia Z who has expandable memory. and its camera has lower resolution, which is 8mp. but then again, I'm not that impressed with xperia Z's camera even though it is 13mp. high resolution doesn't mean high quality anyway.
I went with xperia Z cause I prefer the look of it and I'm not a heavy user so I really don't need a device too powerful. I mainly use my phone for just calls, messaging and email. other features are practically just a bonus for me. it really falls down to your "needs" and "wants" on a smartphone.
Ashlei, 28 Apr 2014What is the chip on the back of the phone for?it's just an indicator on where the NFC scanner is (used for smart tags). I removed the one mine cause I installed a matt screen protector and I think it's just an eyesore.

Should i buy this phone or the Nexus 5, the sony's is older but the specs are higher, i dont really know which will last longer so.. if you guys could help me that'd be great. (i look for a phone that will give me no problems at all (like if that was possible.. and for a phone that will last longer w/ newer updates)
Hey look, im about to buy a new phone and i know the xperia z is old and there are two models after it, but i cant spend loads of money in it and, by the specs it seems to suit my needs, i'll just use it for light gamimg, taking pics and, of course using some mainstream apps. But.. i'd like to hear your opinion what is best to buy NOW based on it's features and the time the time i'm gonna have it without being super obsolet. I am in doubt between Xperia Z and Google Nexus 5. I am a sony lover so, my natural preference is for the Z but it kinda of leaves me scared since its a older phone and it may became obsolet faster or have other problems that the nexus may not have. Thanks in advance :D ( if i buy the z, it'll be the LTE version, i've heard that this version has more problems so.. count with them)
AnonD-257122, 28 Apr 2014Guys how's the camera of this phone, i just love it's design & planning to buy this, also ... moreTBH.... the camera is at its best during daytime.... especially outdoors... it is at par at the best SLRs around. but in indoors and during night.... it fell below my standards. its sort of grainy. but seriously, I rarely use the camera at night. so I still consider it as a good camera phone
