I would say SONY is running a scam in the name of xperia Z. I bought this phone 2 months ago and it was not working good from the first day. its getting so hot that u cannot even touch it, it freezes up and then goes shut down. Finally what sony is saying abt this phone is waterproof, but I would say it is the biggest lie, this phone is not water proof or water resistant, and when I went to the service center to get it fixed, the tech at service center told me that you have to pay 18000 rs to get it fixed. I am not rich so I cant pay 18000 at one hand and now I am feeling that I have been scammed by SONY. this is my experience with sony and I would not suggest any of my friend to invest asingle rupee in SONY.

I bought it and the screen broken within a ... moreyeah troll, it doesn't have gorilla glass on the front, it has dragon trail which is 30 times stronger than gorilla glass, this phone is quite impossible to break unless you use a big hammer or you drop it from the 50th floor, gorilla glass is on the back and is also very very hard to break
I bought this phone second hand and I have to say I'm impressed. UI is flawless and no matter what's going on behind the scenes it remains stable.
Two not-so good points though: 1. Battery life is really poor under heavy use. 2. Not a big fan of the walkman music player. Other than that it's great.

First of all you should narrate... moreAgree, I never had a problem with a Sony phone that they did not fix especially after discussing the issue with them over the phone. I sent it off (not the XZ by the way but an older phone) and got it back in perfect order 5 days later. That was not my experience with Samsung and the crack on my S3 which went back and forth forever and I paid to get it fixed at the Nokia/Samsung Service Centre and sold it fast afterwards. Apple leads the field in customer care with HTC and Sony pretty close behind, beyond that I would not bother!
Make yourself a favor by not buying this phone.
I bought it and the screen broken within a month.
I just kept the phone in my jeans pocket and its broken.
no warranty since its a physical damage, not only me google this and you will find tons of people facing this problem.
This phone doesn't have gorilla glass.
A SONY Store(Official) people are asking $300 to fix the broken screen and after fix the warranty will be void since its a physical damage.
SONY Never Again!!!!

A complaint like this should be explained in writing which remains in future records. No matter how big the company, Its a very common practice that they will hold customer responsible for any technical fault. That's the first easiest step to get rid of problems.
Thereafter, keep sending email until and unless they don't reply. Don't forget to mention names of the people you interacted at sony service centre. You Can post on there Facebook wall repeatedly say every week. It will be read by sony officials or never the less it will be eye opener to others. They will try to remove your wall post by talking to you as it will affect there after sales service image.
If the above does not work, file a simple case in consumer court and keep a hard copies of all the correspondence with sony handy. Then you see how things will turn in your favour.
Nowadays filing case in consumer court is very easy and economical. You will get compensation as well as they will replace the mobile. Any lingering case in court is not in the benefit of company, firstly it attracts unwanted expenses, so they prefer to settle it which is much cheaper option than not replacing your mobile.

I have purchased Sonyís current flagship the Xperia Z on its launch date in India itself.
I bought this phone because it was the only superdroid available with water resistant feature which I thought would be a very handy feature until my phone got dead because of it.
When I was using it, its litmus paper near headphone jack got red, I donít know how, but it was red, but my phone was working flawlessly as it should be.
Even though, being proactive, I visited service center and showed them the red litmus and asked them about it.
The technician told me that phone is perfectly normal and has no issues and you can use it without any worries. I asked him to replace the flap as it could be faulty, on that he told me that it canít be replaced unless and until we donít find any problem with it and told me to use it as it is.
So I took the phone and started using it as it has no issues as per the service centerís representative.
During first rain, I went out to take some photos and videos as climate was very awesome.
I used it for few minutes in rain and suddenly I got message that the memory card is removed.
I rushed back to home and checked my phone I found it malfunctioned as it was not even getting booted up. So I went to same service center again to get it fixed. After keeping that phone with them for almost a week, I got reply that it canít be fixed as it happened due to customerís mistake. I went there as it wasnít my mistake but these guys are not ready to accept the thing even the service center manager also.
I asked them to do the water test in front of me but they are not ready to do this and the manager said" we are not authorized to do it"
They are asking for 31000 for a new phone.
Now my question is where I made mistake? , I followed each and every instruction as per the technician who checked my phone earlier.
My phone is still there at the service center and I am stuck in the middle.
I have submitted the phone on 3 rd of June but still it's with service center
Now what i want is before giving any decission sony should do water test of my XZ so that they will get to know that the flap is faulty it should be replaced.
If that techinician don't know anything about the Xperia Z why he said it's working fine and usit without worries.
