This phone is quite excellent. I just got the phone today. I bought it at the Sony Center here in my country. The price is quite expensive but I do recommend to people who wants watch high quality videos or play games.

I left my experia z on the charger over night, includin... moreSUDDEN DEATH has been reported with several other new handsets of several makes . SONY has issued a fix recently to prevent SUDDENDEATH of sony z after reported cases last 8 weeks in a FEW cases.
? suspicion falls on electric contact points inside handsets overheating while charging -especially during WARM WEATHER with higher room temps without airconditioning . ..

Anybody having the same issues as me?
I left my experia z on the charger over night, including switching on the wireless. It got extremely hot after an hour. The next monring my phone was dead. Nothing charged. No charging light either.
I took it back to the suppliers for a refund which is now pending.
Anyone had similar issues?
AnonD-104401, 06 May 2013sony users are totally unaware about wifi direct.
Feature like wifi direct does not exist in ... moreHello, while it's true that the default firmware/ROM doesn't support wifi direct file-transfer protocol in the Z, that protocol is easily added by apps such as OfficeSuite, File Commander, SuperBeam etc. And you can enjoy the same high-speed transfer as an S3/4
Hope this helped.
Plus (not to the Poster, but to all in general), I'd really like it if you guys stopped with the fanboy flaming, we're all Android affecionados here, then why can't we get along? Everyone has different tastes, I personally love the way the Z looks, and am willing to ignore its shortcomings based on looks and waterproofing alone, others might prefer Samsung, while some might prefer HTC, or Motorola, or LG, or ZTE, or OPPO etc.
The point is that when all's said and done, what matters is that you're happy with your device, because that's the beauty of the Android ecosystem that there is something for each and everyone of us.
Ok guys,i have owned the Xperia Z for around 1 month now - don't listen to what everyone tells you about the xperia Z, i have spent 3 weeks before i bought it rading every review i can get my hands on and was deciding between the Xperia Z, Note 2, S4. but for some reason i went for the Xpeiria Z.
Heating: not as much as people braged about it, it's a quad core CPU so any new quad phone will over heat! but to sum it short it does not over heat like people said it just warms to the acceptable level depending what the user is doing for example: 3 mins call does not compare to a 30 minutes call! 15 mins gaming is certainly not like 1 hour gaming!
Performance: excellent performance i have not had the device give a single hickup, works like a charm.
Display: the resolution and clarity is awesome! if you are gonna brag about viewing screen from a certain side angle come on! who wants anyone to look into his phone's screen!?
Data performance on 3G: just Excellent, i have a free rate plan so i can only say i have used it to the most and i can certainly browse, download, stream just about anything at very high speeds.
Battery: now the battery aswell is not as bad as people say, "if" i have stamina mode on the phone can last about 24-28 hours at most with high usage (stamina mode: disconnects all data connectivity when screen switches off then reconnects and gets you everything when screen is back on) - the only downside here in my opinion is that the battery is internal and not exchangeable unless sent to supplier.
Camera: about the best photos or videos i have ever seen - specialy at night - pics at night are so clear that you think your eyes are not seeing right.
now the last thing which i think is what can annoy anyone is that sony locked the internal storage meaning you cannot transfer your games/data/applications...etc. to SD card, you can only transfer photos and videos. UNLESS you unlock/root your device then you can do that but currently if you do that you will lose the DRM keys and Bravia Engine2 which what gives the clarity and beauty of video/photo playback/ mp3 ID tagging.
i for myself can live with what i mentioned above, it depends on what you need most and whether you are able to cope with it or not.
Guys, I've tried this phone, so far so good, performance is awesome with 2GB ram, theres several issue that we know before is led notification is not working well, only light when charging, hopes someday sony dev will release update to solve and fix this problem.
whatever the comments and opinions..

AnonD-121813, 06 May 2013I'm feeling cheated by Sony to some extent. yesterday my friend was trying to send files from ... moreWi-Fi Direct files transferring currently only available in samsung smartphones. On other smartphones Wi-Fi Direct mode is used to send (to play on) multi media files to DLNA supported devices by direct connection without a wireless router or access point.
Please any one tell me how to transfer a video file (.MPG) from pc to Xperia Z
and is Adobe Flash Player competable in Xperia Z?
AnonD-104401, 06 May 2013before making a comment follow the review made by Gsm arena itself... then say whose specs a... moreAnd I would suggest you go take some lessons in English. My post confirmed the specs and features, most of which I have turned off as they are of no use to me, I own both phones but doubt that you do! For my personal tastes, it boild down to the build quality as I said most ordinary people cannot notice the spec difference in real time use. You will notice the build quality, however. My personal choice and conclusion is that whilst I like the S4, I love the XZ! Take it or leave it but I do not care for your opinion which is quite clearly biased and uninformed and based on other's views. I own both handsets and that is my judgement after using both of them! Get over it.

Anonymous, 06 May 2013Hi I ahve purchased sony Xperia Z yeaterday...today I have played a game for half an hour and ... moreU have purchased this thing yesterday? How unfortunate..
For all the people who are about to buy a new flagship - stay away from xperia Z. It's full of issues. Overheating, poor battery life, the crappiest 1080p screen I've seen, poor loudspeaker quality, last-years hardware.. just to name a few. It's ALREADY outdated.
Htc one is lightyears ahed of this, even the galaxy s4 is better than this.. Grab one of those or wait for the upcoming new sony flagships. Just for the heads up. Cheers.
