Georg Mann, 28 Mar 2013I wonder if this phone gonna suffer the same fate as the Xperia S.I have to ask also, what exactly was the fate of Xperia S? I wasnt aware that anything bad had happened to it in any way?
You know you are a fanboy when...
...You find anything positive about samsungs powerbuttons.
Just by placing a button in middle u r saying it to be a copy?
God bless ur brain!
Now one could say we r all copies of adam and eve and none of us are original within themselves.. And our DNA dosnt matter.. Only the outer looks will be considered!
SAM witwicky, 28 Mar 2013anon, i'm not trolling u, ACTUALLY u are trolling on yourself kiddo ! Haha
this copycat pho... moreCopy samsungs power button??? Wow, you are something huh, and i dont mean that in a good way whatsoever.
The power button on samsung are the worst, by far, so soft and terrible press and plastic, accidential reboot cant be avoided. Thankfully the Z has a cute little button that feels and looks like quality all the way, and just like all other phones that was made by engineers and not monkeys thee is a key combination for forced reboot. The 10 second powerbutton press on samsung is what should worry you, coz Z has nothing to worry about in this department.
Dont worry, noone will ever steal samsungs powerbutton, and the placement is hardly anything to file a patent about is it? '
Wow so much i disliked the Note 2 powerbutton, but i doubt they made it feel so cheap and weak on purpose, unlike what you most likely will claim? It even moves around sideways, in all directions, seriously man, it sux so much.
what about this phone .. i want to buy one .. plz tell me is this phone is good ??
i bought this phone last week, and have been using it until now.
it made me shocked when i hands on it because the phone is really big (for me, my little hand, and its my opinion).
but this phone feels really great, especially the 1080p screen, many people said that the viewing angle is poor, but for me it just good since i don't like other people know what i'm doing or what i typed in my phone.
and the stamina mode is really good, its help the battery life.
also another thing that i liked, that phone has a unibody(not removable battery) because you don't need to wipe off the water left on the phone after you submerged it into the water, unlike the Xperia V that has a removable back, so you need to wipe the water inside the back cover after you submerged it into the water.
but the unibody itself have a main problem that after you submerged the Xperia Z into the water, the speaker will be sounds very low for 30min-1hour because the water stuck inside the speaker and you cannot wipe it, unlike the Xperia V that has a removable back so you can wipe the water that stuck inside the speaker.
and my other disappointment is on the camera, launching the camera sometimes took time, and so many noise in low light condition.
overall, i'm in love with this phone, but too bad and i'm so sad that i'm going to sell it next week because for me this phone is too big for me and my little hand, and because i love the water resistant feature, so i think that i will stick with my Xperia V for a bit until Sony announced their other new phone that also water resistant and hopefully its not this big.
anon, i'm not trolling u, ACTUALLY u are trolling on yourself kiddo ! Haha
this copycat phone copy those right power/lock button from samsung, but still u didn't realize because u are soooo BLIND ! Before this, sony didn't put that button on the right side, always on a top.
Hey, better u go to learn from basic in the kindergarden.. Lame always..
As said before, lets wait for the drop tests, and now theres one for the Htc One, http://blog.gsmarena.com/htc-one-stands-against-the-iphone-5-in-an-epic-drop-test-see-which-one-walks-away/
Well, unibody??? Wow thats so WEAK, just like the whining kids the HTC fanboys are ahah, with their average age of early puberty
SAM wicwicky, 28 Mar 2013coolkid, u know what ? This phone is sucks ! Fake battery stamina, bad viewing angles, crap UI... morePlus 1 "Fanboys Humiliated By Xperia Z". You know what it's that feeling? That's the feeling of having been Owned hard.
The good news it's that you won a free membership in FFFP, Fanboys Fighting For Plastic.
i bought it last week ....Reading email and book awesome...the text are crisp and clear...reducing eye strain...the phone is extremely fast than s3...need some software upgrade 4.2.2 .. stamina mode is really useful ...it is better than samsung s4

Fake battery stamina, bad viewing angles, crap UI... moreInnovation means to create something new and not copy something that already exists! Apple admitted during its trial with Samsung that it was inspired (it copied) Sony. Get real and stop chatting cack! I believe there is a Samsung blog somewhere so if you can't be constructive suggest you join the rest of the fanboyz on there. Stop trolling....pleaseeeee!
[deleted post]Yes,you are right.Thats why Samsung paid penalty to I- phone..Silly Samsung, copy cat..
It is called Innovation..he he he.
@kimhong0614, 28 Mar 2013I have to wait at least 2 to 3 seconds only then the camera can be turned on. Is that normal? that's normal if you open the camera for the first time. once the camera has been started, it will be kept open in the background (typical android setup) so there shouldn't be problems with opening it the next time around.
if you can't deal with the delay, install another camera app. you may even get better camera results with third party apps since sony's noise reduction is too aggressive.

I wonder if this phone gonna suffer the same fate as the Xperia S.
coolkid, u know what ? This phone is sucks ! Fake battery stamina, bad viewing angles, crap UI, annoying heating problems, boring box-shaped design, copying the old crAPPLE iphone glass body.
If u said samsung air-gesture copied the xperia sola, so all the sony phones are copying old motorola phone, the first wireless handphone. Go away if u didn't want to be duplicated ! Nowadays, good technology must be shared upon different smartphone brands. Hence, it is called innovation..
[deleted post]Who cares... Even after your comment samsung will still remain plastic...
I'm using xperia z since 2 weeks ago.
Display: Not perfect but still great, especially when mobile bravia engine 2 is active (for video playback, picture, image browsing, and playing games) .. Amazing
Viewing angle? Not impressive but I prefer sunlight legibility to viewing angle, which is great and more useful in daily use. For below par contrast ratio performance (for highend), still acceptable for me, but I hope software upgrade can handle this issue.
Processing Power and UI: Not the fastest phone, but still enough to impress me.. Blazing fast UI, no lags or freeze at all.. Superior performance
Sudden death? Well, my unit is perfect, never happened here. My complaint is device temperature, especially when performing some heavy tasks.
Camera and video: Great Superior Auto Mode, very useful for daily use, very fast capture, great picture quality. No match for Nokia 808 for sure, but still manage to replace low-mid end digicam for daily use.
1080p video recording is decent for current highend smartphone.
Battery performance: 48 hours rating by GSMA, but Stamina Mode does make difference here, very helpful for analysing and preventing many apps and setting that drain battery. Very customize-able setting too. I'm really impressed with Stamina Mode.
Multimedia: Walkman and video player are great with perfect audio quality. Mono speaker is let down here, I prefer HTC One stereo speaker.
Design and build quality: For me, great design is a must for highend smartphone, no chance for ugly design and cheap material here. My purple XZ manage to attract many people eyes and impressed them. Just wow... Prada-like phone. Beautiful yet strong
Dust and water resistance are very nice bonus, very rare feature for highend smartphone.
So far, I'm satisfied with my unit, which is my first Sony phone. But, I hope this year, Sony should upgrade this and launch Xperia Z+ (or such) with Snapdragon 600 (or better) processor, better display (JDI panel), and bigger battery.
